The Communication Team of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern region is angry over attempts by some faceless human persons to block members from being appointed into various positions.
According to them, there is a deliberate attempt by some elements within government to sideline the Northern Regional Communication team from getting appointments
The group has threatened to boycott all party related activities including defending the party in the media if after a week the president fails to show appreciation for the work they have done in the past by appointing members of the team to various positions,
“It is obvious that, there is a deliberate attempt by some elements within the government to sideline members of the northern regional communications team for appointments in the government.
There is no doubt that the northern regional communication team of the party worked tirelessly for the victory of the party in the last elections. Ever since the party went into opposition in the 2008 general elections, we have not relented in our efforts to ensure that we get the party back to power. Being a communicator in the northern region is not the same as a communicator in other regions, considering the volatile nature of the region. There were days communicators had to sleep in radio stations for fear of their lives”, they said in a release signed by Haruna Wunnam
Cataloguing the contributions of members, it indicated that a number of them risked their lives for the party while in opposition but have deliberately been ignored now the party is in power.
“King Faisal was attacked in a radio station leading to the burning down of the said station. Others were attacked in their homes and some even chased out. Again, after the Dagbon issue, virtually everyone deserted the party except for these communicators who put their lives on the line to fight for the party.
Faisal Gbanjili for instance was nearly lynched by some youth group within the NDC at radio Justice, Frederick Tahiru was almost maimed by some other youth group of the NDC and finally Yussif Danjimah was also a key target for speaking for the NPP. Today as the party is in power, what has become of the faith of these communicators? What can the party do for the likes of A. latif , Mohammed Sherif , Adam A. Gafaru, Mohammed Poloo, Frederick Tahiru, Yussif Danjimah,Abdul Kudus who is the regional communications director and Sulley Salifu who is also the regional secretary and a member of the regional communications team for their relentless efforts in bringing back the party to power”

guys, i understand ya frustration and plight very much. #i will say and say again that, if the likes of gabby and asante bediatiuo are still with nana addo, he the excellent and competent president will end up like prof mills. i dont know how people do understand party, appointments and where they are hurriedly running to. key appointments are made by the president in key positions like the ministers, security , ambassadors. the remaining must be for party and paid up people for the victory of the party. if the president is after all to appoint everyone, i think he will spend the remaining 9 months at the office. by now, a president i hurry might have been in town accessing the country but still he is at the office for appointments nana, yes chief, you are the president, commander of the armed forces, party leader and choice of many Ghanaians, i wish ya excellency will at least for now, allow the REGIONAL PARTY HEADS to bring appointments for CEO, special assistants etc for institutions etc. i wouldnt say let them choose a security capo for you nor an ambassador for you knowing how fragile africa democracy is or how an ambassador may even disdain ya government in other country but for appointment to be supervised by ya ministers you trust de3 ABA nana, rest and give that to PARTY LEADERS in the regions wai bcx we have gotten enough of the Gabbys making you unpopular and justifying the akyem mafia mantra of the ndc. at least offices of YES, GYDA, FDA, DVLA etc in each region or constituency in each region must be headed by a true or known party man or woman who has helped in the struggle to power. people think it was a cool chop election, it wasnt so bcx if people ask from chairman wontumi, the late Adams, kennedy agyapong etc, there you guys will see it was fighting a cabre of chiefs, pastors, most imams, greedy politicians even in our own npp and so, once fought, won, i think though competence and degree is important, i think none our party man or woman once heading and institution etc will collapse it like mahaha did, after all we have competence minister to whose supervision that appointee will report to so na watin. communicators, party financiers, patrons etc have fought hard and remember though its s/he who laughs last laugh best but justice delayed is justice denied and its worth when its hot. pork is best eaten when its hot
