Hundreds of the youth of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP in the Bawku Central Constituency, have described as 'sheer discrimination and unfair', the failure of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to nominate a member of the party in the constituency in his Ministerial Appointments.

They say they are very devastated by virtue of the refusal of the president to consider just one guru of the party in the constituency in the 110 Ministerial Appointments, challenging Nana Akufo Addo to think afresh or risk losing the support of the party's youth in the constituency in subsequent elections.

Addressing a news conference in Bawku of the Upper East Region over the weekend, the mouthpiece of the youth, Yahuza Bagura, said there was no justification for the NPP government to neglect Bawku in the Ministerial Appointments since the party's votes have been consistently appreciating in every election than any other constituency in the Upper Region.

"We wish to state in a gloomy tone of melancholy and surprise that no one from Bawku Central has so far been nominated or appointed by the president for approval by the august house of Parliament. Mr. President, our people, citizens and not spectators are beginning to get agitated on how Bawku Central is being treated", Mr. Bagura said.

He, therefore, gave the president a one month ultimatum to consider giving some ministerial portfolios to some distinguished personalities of the party in the constituency, or risk seeing 'the other side of the youth'.

The youth group proposed a renowned legal practitioner, Mr. Mohammed Tahiru Nambe and some other key leading members of the party in the constituency, whom they wanted the president to consider in the ongoing ministerial appointments.

The Spokesperson further elucidated that: "we call on His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, His Excellency the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the National and Regional Executives of the NPP to correct this anomaly, which we believe would affect the prospects of the party in the constituency.

"We have been loyal to the party and all we ask for is, this loyalty should be recognised, appreciated and compensated".

The youth are also asking Nana Akufo Addo to appoint one of two contestants in the Municipal Chief Executive, MCE's position, saying they believe those two aspirants have consistently worked harder for the increase of the electoral fortunes of the party in the constituency.

Mr. Bagura explained the MCE's position needed to be manned by a committed person in the party whose diligence and hard work knew no boundaries, adding the person must also be a grassroots man, who could foster unity amongst the youth to collectively advance the interests of the Municipality.

They, thus, proposed some two staunch members, and asked the president not to go outside the names they recommended for him.

"Our position on the nomination of the MCE for the Bawku Municipality is that, all the applicants are qualified for it. However, we wish to state unequivocally that the best bet of the youth is either Abubakar Iddirsu Bawa or Amadu Moqtar", the youth advised, stressing an appointment outside the recommended names would spark confusion and altercation in the municipality.
