New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central in the Central region Kennedy Ohene Agyepong is claiming that civil servants lead the chart when it comes to corruption in the country.
He believes the civil servants are more corrupt than politicians even though there is the growing the perception that politicians are more corrupt.
“Go to most of the prominent settlements and estates in Ghana, most of the houses you see there are for these civil servants yet the politicians are accused of being corrupt”, he alleged.
According to him, the leakages in the system through corruption are the factors affecting the development of the country which the first president never envisaged.
“It is not only NPP or NDC……Kwame Nkrumah did not expect this magnitude of corruption in the country we are witnessing today. We must all work towards cleansing the system”, he advised.
The outspoken politician believes that civil servants in connivance with some politicians are ripping off the nation diverting state funds into personal accounts which must be stopped if the grow yearns to grow.
To this end he declared his resolve to serve the country and promised to expose persons including members of his party who will engage in fishy deals.
“I am going to serve my country and those who think they can come and blow cash, I will crash them.
The NPP is not perfect and cannot deliver the promises in one year. There will be mistakes in the NPP but we will correct those mistakes”, he emphasized.

I AGREE WITH U HON. #100%. OUR CIVIL SERVANT ARE HIDING BEHIND POLITICIANS TO COMMIT HIGH LEVEL CORRUPTION. IS TIME THEY ARE DEALT WITH.
only 3 monts of power and u hv started blaming a whole group of ppl who have families. Talk like this shd be stopped at once. From blaming the NDC to blaming civil servants. Those civil servants are the easiest to blame
I've always insisted that the causes of Ghana's developmental challenges lie more with the people below the political hierarchy than with the top. They take shelter in the inefficiencies and corruption at the top and do worse things. Take it or leave it, governments have introduced a number of good polices only for the policies to be killed by the same people it the polices are meant for - through corruption and greed
