Lawyer Foh Amoaning, a private legal practitioner has said, it was improper for the 3-member committee set up to review and investigate the Ameri deal to accept a sponsorship package from the same firm they investigated.
The Minority at a press conference addressed by the former Power Minister, Kwabena Donkor under the Mahama administration alleged that, the Philip Addison committee had their plane tickets and hotel bills paid by Ameri when they traveled outside the country as part of their investigative work.
Kwabena Donkor at the press conference quizzed: ‘’We want to ask; who paid for their tickets, who paid for their hotel accommodation? We have the evidence that Ameri energy paid for the hotel that they used, paid for their tickets.
“If you’re going to investigate someone, do they pay for your accommodation and host you? We are in a country of law, our side will not want to see an energy sector divided between NDC and NPP and therefore they should be candid with us’’
Responding to the allegation on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the lawyer said, the committee shouldn’t have taken anything from a company there were investigating if the allegation by the Minority, was factual or true.
‘’In my honest opinion, the committee shouldn’t have taken anything from the company they were investigating. Government should have paid for the tickets and other expenses for the committee.
That is unethical. In his view, accepting the sponsorship may comprise the final decision or recommendation by the committee.
‘’Justice must not only be seen to be done but must be seen manifesting to be done.

THIS IS WHAT WE GHANAIANS HAVE VOTED FOR.THE CORRUPTION HAVE STARTED COMING IN DIFFERENT FORMS.THIS IS PURELY UNREASONABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE.NANA SHOULD WAKE UP...
When will we learn at all Ghana? Why are we that broke for the accused to foot our bills to the prosecutor and the magistrate's office? Hmmm!!! eben asem mpo yi? ebeyuo!!!
Foh, you are right. lets be careful the way we handle such matters
In fact, I see nothing wrong ethical of whatever with this supposed sponsorship. It should not come to add to the cost of the nation in this Ameri ***barred word*** ndc deal. Ameri should be put on notice to bear all cost associated with review of the ***barred word*** deal.
Sponsorship was by government in any case if they were sponsored but still wrote that the contract was fraudulent why attack Addison? Evil people and haters.
This Lawyer Addison was soo greeeeeddyyyy to stand in an election with a young man( Nii Noi) and lost to Jerry's daughter by the blink.Opanyin te s3 wo. Instead of helping the young man he rather fought him and they both lost. Then take such a character to go and investigate what. Well i guess Asantehene has told Nana Addo about ppl around him.
‘’Justice must not only be seen to be done but must be seen manifesting to be done. BAD ENGLISH!!!
I cant believe it that Lawyer Addison in his right thinking will accept and receive any help of any nature from some one purported to have been part of malfeasance. Now after being in bed with Ameri ,you now tell us to renegotiate. For what ? why didnt you say prosecution for the lost 150USD should be retrieved. How dare you - abooooooowawah! All these characters are not good for Nana Addo ooooo, yooooooooo.
This is not right, the Phillip Addison Committee need to abolish as soon as possible. I know Addison personally, and not surprise about this, but I again feel much ashamed for Addison. I think Ghana is doomed.
