The Member of Parliament for Keta and Deputy Minority Ranking Member on Employment, Richard M. Quashigah, is asking Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to apologise to the public and the Minority in Parliament for his use of ‘undiplomatic’ language.
A statement issued by Quashigah Friday noted that Dr. Bawumia has been quoted by the news media as describing the minority as an ignorant bunch who must do some reading to educate themselves following their recent criticism of government’s issuance of a domestic bond as lacking transparency.
He said Vice President Bawumia was quoted to have made the comment at a recent engagement in Washington D. C., while responding to the minority criticism.
“If indeed those were his words, then it is not only unfortunate but a very jaundiced conclusion to have been made by him.
“If indeed the reportage as put out by the media is accurate, then he is advised to learn to speak with diplomacy and dignity expected of a vice president or else before long he could cause this nation an incalculable international embarrassment.
“Assuming without admitting that the minority got it wrong, couldn't he have clarified without insults?
“Mr. Bawumia, the current Vice President of Ghana, must do the excellent thing by withdrawing and must apologise to the good people of Ghana. The use of intemperate language is unbecoming of the Vice President,” he said.

Even the minority's response to the VEEP's comment shows the extent to which they are ***barred word*** about certain things. If you represent your constituents, that doesn't make you all knowing being. Bawumia is only asking the minority to read to cure their IGNORANCE. When did that become an insults. The insults that NDC operatives including the Ex-President have heaped on Ghanaians, who did apologize. The NDC by this posture is distancing its further from majority of Ghanaians. This is free information for them.
Its always said that the Truth sometime hurt and that is exactly what is happening now. Those that have ears let them hear
ig·no·***barred word*** ˈiɡnərənt/, lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular. "NDC were ***barred word*** of economics" above description by Bawumiah is spot on. Quarshigah should know we are not doing propaganda here but serious business of running the economy and taking care of the people.
Since when did this arr0gant person start knowing about diplomacy? When you opened your mouth and used unprintable words about the Chief Justice, did you not know about about diplomacy? Empty barrels are indeed the noisiest ! Apology my anuuus, apeeetorrrrr!
So what at all do NDC MPs need from the word “APPOLOGY”. You demanded Madam Otiko to apologize for her campaign words, now the Vice Prez too must apologize because he has said something that does not sit well with you. Though I don’t believe in equalization for wrong things, but where were you when JDM said opposition MPs were sleeping in parliament? Did you ask JDM to apologize to Nana Addo when JDM said Nana was sleeping when campaigning in the western region? You guys must learn how to provide alternative government to the ruling one so that Ghana will be a better place and stop these infantile demands for apology.
Ah ah ah ah, apologies for stating the obvious.free education is meant for people like you in the ndc.is it not true that you people lack the understanding of reading English language more especially when it comes to interpreting the economic language and that is the cause of your failure in the management of the economy during your reign.is it the first time the good old economic doctor accusing you people of lack of reading? Master get your uniform read and wait for September to enroll into the free SHS.
but this is not the first time Dr Bawumia is saying that you people dont read
apologise for what? NDC minority must enroll in the free SHS in september and try to learn to read. Stuuuuuuuupid people.
wetin call? which can apology? wo ka wo ka. na obuwa ana? This unnecessary noise you folks are making what's the benefit after all. If you're scared of the strides being made go and hide. That's all say that's all.
Hei, Quashigah were you not in parliament when your own party man Ayarigah lied and you all supported him. What is 'undiplomatic' language. Look here give us a break. He has said it all. You people do not read, period!!!!!
