Audio Attachment: Listen to Fred Agbenyo on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' |
NDC Deputy Communications Director, Fred Agbenyo has dismissed reports that the Akufo-Addo government is successfully rolling out the implementation of their free SHS policy.
The free SHS policy, which has ensured that students benefit from free education in the country; comes as a relief to Ghanaians.
The policy formed a major part of the campaign promises of the governing New Patriotic Party.
The policy which began in September this year has been warmly welcomed by Ghanaians who continue to praise the government for fulfilling its promise.
Commenting on the policy on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Fred Agbenyo stressed that there are several challenges with the policy and so the government should not pat itself on the back for kick-starting the programme.
According to him, instead of President Akufo-Addo and his government prancing in joy, they should rather admit to the challenges in order to create "credibility for politicians" in the country.
Fred Agbenyo noted that the government has deceived Ghanaians into thinking that they have made education free in the country.
He said "parents will still have to incur some cost. So, that must be made clear…How do you call it free? It’s progressive”.
Listing some challenges fraught with the free SHS programme, he indicated that parents of students in some schools in the Volta Region, will have to cough up monies to "buy one metal trunk. You’ll buy one chop box. You’ll buy one student size mattress. You will buy one pillow and one electric iron…one blanket, one cover cloth, two sets of night gowns. You’ll buy pyjamas, umbrella, rain coat, handkerchiefs, sets of black sandals, white canvass, cutlery” and so forth as their children go to the Senior High School.

This Fred Agbenyo Guy is a nauciating 1diot.. Gbemela
Fred Agbenyo wise up, you reason like you have chicken brains. Nowhere in the world will you go to a boarding school empty handed even if the education if free. No where, not in the USA, UK, Europe or any African country never. You should research. Parents have to bear some responsibilities too...
What does he mean.this politician's have no honour. Buying a chopbox or tranks should also be free, then what about the provisions and pocket money.
I thought I heard NDC has established as school for logical thinking and that Asiedu Nketia was inviting NPP leaders to enroll to learn logic. Interestingly one of their own and I believe a potential lecturer or Resource Person in the LOGICAL school is Fred Agbanyo. Hmmm!!! If this warped logic is what he is going to lecture the prospective students then I pray for Ghana. Anyway, Fred Agbenyo can also benefit from FREE SHS should he choose to enroll now to learn proper logic. Unfortunately, he will not be given free chop box, gari and shito. I rest my case
thank God that some people are born privalate we are going to have some body from this generation to save our country God has listen to our prayers , like Moses in the bible his life was saved to rescued the Isrealites. God is preparing under privalage person since he or her was born under the free maternal care policy former President Kuffour introduce . this child is now going to have another free SHS to equip him or her to rescue Ghananians from this illiterate leaders who cant think fare. God is indeed wonderful he works in a misterours ways . No human being can change somebody destiny
Fred, your national organizer said yesterday that you are a classless witch. Enough said. Give him a call for clarification.
If the NDC cannot find any better communicators apart from the bunch of loose talkers they currently have, then they should start building hostels in opposition and sleep there. See the number of comments that this reckless comments have attracted? A thousand words to these 1diots is complete waste!
Another big ***barred word***.
Waa look at you and hear you speak. Ohh so you too are enjoying free shs right? Fred just add all the things you mentioned and add it to the fees that you would have paid and see if it does not make a diffrence. And let me ask you, if your child is in the house, dont you buy shoes, does he or she sleep on a mattress, dont you have buckets that the child use to bath in the house? Massa if you cannot afford this for your child , there is an option for him or her to enroll at one of the day community schools near by. And since your Government built 200 of them, I believe it will not be so hard to find one near by.
Abgenyo u see your fuuuulishness.Just yesterday 76 comments. NDC I told you this policy is good and Ghanaiand have wholeheartedly embraced it so any attempt to down play it will be met by insults. U see your size now
