Host of "Kokrokoo", Peace FM's Flagship programme, Kwami Sefa Kayi, has cautioned Ghanaians against illegal recording of conversations as displayed in the case of controversial musician A-Plus and the Deputy CID Director, Mrs. Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.
Barely three weeks after A-Plus accused the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff; Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye of corruption, an audio recording containing the voice of the Deputy CID Boss where she seems to be advising the musician on some issues that may implicate him if he appears before the Investigative body leaked.
Mrs. Addo-Danquah was heard on the tape saying "as for the corruption aspect of it, from what you said and what we've gone to confirm, you wouldn't be too far from right to say that this is what happened but we need to manage . . . the people are your people. We need to find the best way to ensure that Korle Bu works the way we all want it . . . I feel sad for Nana, I think he has good intentions but he is not going to achieve them".
Though A-Plus has neither denied nor confirmed knowledge of the leakage of the audio, the Deputy CID Boss says the audio has been doctored to achieve some "mischievous and evil" purpose.
She said in a statement that large portion of the contents of her conversation with A-plus was a "total fabrication and a figment of the author's imagination".
Commenting briefly on the culture of recorded tapes, Mr. Sefa Kayi dreaded the future of the nation as he stated categorically that "one day, something will go horribly wrong in this country and then, we will take a second look at this thing where somebody has a confidential conversation with you, then you record it and leak it publicly . . . I take you into my confidence over a matter. If perhaps I wanted to make my conversation public, why didn’t I say it in the public domain?”
He wondered what the motives of people who record a person's conversation in confidence are, asking is it "to run me down, to embarrass me, to humiliate me, to disgrace me; one day, something will go horribly wrong”.

Seriously did Sefa Kayi say NPP conversations should not be recorded or conversations in general? You these NDC guys always fail to read, and when you read too you fail to comprehend. What at all do you want from people who do not belong to your class of thinking? Read and understand before commenting wai.
All these comments coming from NDC sympathizers. A- plus himself apologized for the way he presented the case. So why all these hypocracy comments.
my goodness kwame sefakayi, instead of praising a plus you are rather condemning him. were you happy and singing hallelujah when he wa doing it to john mahama? i voted for nana addo to take corruption away and if nothing is going to be done about this corrupt official then i will advise my self and i know it's not going to be me alone. some faithful ghanaians will decide come 2020. nana do something before you die. and can nana stop saying mahama and ndc emptied the coffers? your people are now rather emptying the ones you worked for just few months so concentrate on putting a stop to that. thx
I commend what A-plus did. Even with the recorded conversation she is denying the voice! Imagine what she would have done if there was no recording! I bet she would have denied ever hearing of the name A-plus. To have have a high-ranking officer of a law enforcement agency belittle the efforts in fighting corruption is alarming and seriously disturbing! So who do we turn to in the fight against this canker? The people who are paid to ensure the law works against corrupt officials are encouraging people to drop allegations of corruption against alleged perpetrators! And to add insult to injury she is still at post!We need A-plus in every home! We must start the fight against corruption from every home, every office, everywhere. President John Magfuli of Tanzania is leading by example in the fight against corruption in Tanzania and it is yielding dividends. We will be kidding ourselves if our rhetoric is not accompanied by actions and I think A-plus has taken an action against corruption and I applaud him for that. Kwame Sefa Kayi should bow his bald head in shame for taking such a position in this matter!
Kwame sefa kai paaa...see how you fround your face with this cheep advice. Are you not ashamed of yourself? or you don't know that it hurt you to hear your paymaster are corrupt.
Ghanaians should forget about Nana Addo fighting corruption. Can Npp be in power without stealing? apoot))) for the where? if corruption has started from the president office we can imagine others offices outside flagstar house. As A PLUS we should rather pray for Ghana produce more people like him to speak the truth irrespective of where it goes. When A PLUS was on the neck of former president the enemies who now attack him were those happy and edging him to carry on. Today the table turns and the same people are crying and calling him names. That is Ghana for us.
Eeii sefa kai today you have truly demonstrated your political color for Ghanaians. What a hypocrisy be this? speak to the issue on which the woman was recorded. This is a woman who is alleged to have ask a plus to drop the corruption aspect of the whole issue, which is the substance of the allegation and yet you think she shouldn't be recorded for Ghanaians to know what personnel like the police who is suppose to be truthful and protect the public parse? the corruption the president says he want to fight. Am very happy this woman was recorded to serve as deterrent to others to handle corruption issues well irrespective their political colors.
@Kojo and Djata and the rest of you, I think you should put on your thinking cups on and stop attacking Kwemi Sefa Kai. Just reflect on what he said. He was just giving a sensible advice. If you do not agree with him you can continue recording people secretly. One day you would also be recorded and we shall hear what you'd say to that.
Kwame sefa Kai, you can do us good if you stop being too bias on your show towards just one political party the NPP and play a role as watch dog for the voiceless in this country. You are busy doing the bidding of your pay Masters and allowing the current government go away with all the failed promises and the corruption that is all over the place. The same way you were on the neck of the previous government, you can do the same thing. Stop being a Hypocrite. Work for the good people of Ghana. Your position is a previlage use it to help the voiceless. Ghana can be a better place if people like you can start speaking the truth. Good name is better than riches
THE POLICE ADMINISTRATION SHOULD SANCTION HER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO TEACH THE REST IN THE POLICE SERVICE TO KNOW HOW TO BE WISE AND SPEAK ON ISSUES.
