The posturing of the 10 regional chairmen of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who have called on former President John Dramani Mahama to jump into the party’s leadership race ahead of the 2020 elections, is a harbinger of “bigger disgrace” in store for the umbrella family, former La-Dadekotopon Member of Parliament (MP), Nii Amasah Namoale has said.
Nii Namoale, who recently stepped down from his party’s flagbearership race, in a radio interview on Accra based Class FM Friday morning said he believes there were moves to impose a candidate on the party for the 2020 polls.
“I saw what happened in Cape Coast and I’ve seen that if we will go into this flagbearership thing with a divided front, those who are trying to impose a candidate on us will succeed,” he explained as being the reason for ceding his supporters to fellow potential aspirant Prof Joshua Alabi.
As far as the call on Mr Mahama by the regional chairmen to contest the leadership race is concerned, Namoale said: “They have the democratic right to go anywhere that they want to go, they have the democratic right to suggest to the former president to do a ‘thank you’ tour, they have a democratic right to call on him to come and contest 2020, that is their opinion. But as to whether the ‘thank you’ tour is in the Kwesi Botchwey report or not, it is the National Executive Committee or the Functional Executive Committee – the corporate NDC – that will give us a directive as to what to do and what not to do. It is not the 10 regional chairmen who are members of NEC.”
In his view, the regional chairmen, “should have tabled it at NEC for NEC to tell the former president to go and do a ‘thank you’ tour. But they have come out to say it.
“So, it is their association, they have the democratic right but let me tell you something, Moro, there is a bigger disgrace waiting for us ahead. There is a bigger disgrace waiting for us. If we are so impatient, we are so bent on taking the horse to the river and forcing the horse to drink water from the river. You cannot force the horse, but there is a way you can force the horse: throw the horse into the river, when it starts drowning it will drink the water.”
“It’s an association, they have the democratic right to visit whoever they want to, they have the democratic right to do whatever they want to do but I’m telling you that from what I’m seeing and from what I’m reading, there is a bigger disgrace waiting for us,” Namoale stressed.

NDC was peaceful and progressive until the introduction of Mahama as president. He had it cool based on Prof. Mills demise(may his soul RIP). Mahama is a spoilt and babied NDC child and want to remain so. He has money now and seems to have bought the conscience of the regional leaders. Folks do you remember Nana Konadu once said he's being treated with kids gloves? That is the effect of what we are seeing now.
Naamoale, asem naa na waka no!! The flagbearership should be opened for all interested aspirants so that the best person at the end of the day should win. At the moment, the party is heavily divided tho many will not openly admit it but we know better. And there's no no way u can win any election with a divided front. Forget it. It won't happen! It has to be also said that Mahama isn't your best bet given his woeful performance in governance. Start marketing and branding a new and a better candidate now so he/she would have been known much more by 2020. Even if he/she isn't successful, at least it will be easier the next time u try. As for Jon di3, mo forgeti
mahama will get 20% come 2020, any one can get 30% but john mahama will get 20%, he is the most disgrace man in ghana, from gh pp
John mahama is nothing in Ghana to be forced to apologize to anybody because he has no manners. Insult is his hall mark and mustvbe giving equal measure that's all! he thinks Ghana belongs to his fathe so he csn play st*pid and go scot free yet Ghanaians will vote for him, he will regret he once again offered himself to the ndc candidacy. Nobody needs his apology so far as he can't also force anyone to vote for him and ndc footsoldiers can't make him a president but the Ghanaians he is calling them pigs because they voted for the NPP for good governance will show him again in 2020.
You are an idioooooot, go force him to apologize. What at all have you NPP youth taken Mahama for? Listen to the immature accusation you are leveling against him. Only stupiiiiiiiid fooooooools like you will demonstrate
I support the Ashanti youth 100% as a citizen of Ghana I think the warning is not enough I think we should force him to apologizes to the prez the vep the NPP and the entire nation with a timeline else we stage a nation wide demonstration against him how can you go on a unity walk sharing monies to your chairmen and others knowing very well that your'e creating more creaks in your party you see the you're not deserve to be a leader
Namoale, I remember that just a couple of weeks ago, you insisted that all is well within the NDC! Now I guess the chickens have come home to roost! This is the problem with these so called modern day politicians; they do politics for convenience and don't care a hoot about the average voter on the street. It is true what Bob Marley said - these are the big fish, who always try to beat down the small fish. They will do anything to materialise their every wish. (But) Woe to the downpressor, they eat the brad of sorrow; woe to the the downpressor, they eat the bread of sad tomorrow - Guiltiness truly rests on their conscience! Namoale, it doesn't feel so good when the bigger fish in your party seem to be getting their way right? My only worry and pain is that when these parochial minded politicians indulge in all their shenanigans to achieve their selfish motives, we the unsuspecting and ever-trusting Ghanaians will always be the ones who suffer. What is even more depressing and worrying is that they almost always seem to get their way in the end. So Namoale, whether you shout or cry out, you know Mahama will have his way in your party and he will surely have his day at the ballot but let's see whether providence will favour deceit or that truth and justice will win - I confidently say truth will always overcome evil. Shame on you Namoale; you are a coward and will always be. ***barred word***!!!
so within ndc we have PIGS inside time will tell
I could see that these 10 Chairmen want to CHOP the former President's money. Because the former President want to be President at all cost and that these people also will demand money from him. Likewise those who DID NOT get some the other time too will GO ALL OUT to collect money. Those who wanted to contest the President and would NOT get chance to contest will be offended and will join the former President JJ to campaign against JDM (corrupt captain)
Amen !!! Npp must prove to Ghanaians they are better than ndc...nana addo work hard
