Suspended 2nd Vice Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe, has revealed that the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, has an axe to grind with him for supporting Sarah Adjoa Safo to win the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) primaries in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency and subsequently to become the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
During the NPP’s primaries in 2011 ahead of the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections, Ms Safo beat the son of the current Speaker, Mike Oquaye Jnr and subsequently won the elections to become the MP for the area.
Mr Crabbe has said he played an instrumental role in ensuring Ms Safo’s victory in the primaries and the elections and that has created a bad blood between himself and Professor Oquaye.
Mr Crabbe speaking with Moro Awudu on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class 91.3FM on Wednesday, 21 February 2018 said he is not perturbed with the development following his conviction that he has been able to help Ms Safo succeed in her political ambitions.
He said: “Now Ghana celebrates Adwoa Safo and I doff off my hat for her, she has done so well. If Sammy Crabbe had not stood his ground for her, we wouldn’t be seeing this today. Up to now, the Speaker of Parliament, Mike Oquaye, is not on good terms with me because of Adwoa Safo but I don’t care because I can sit down and say that I saw potential, I stood my ground and I created the space."
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP suspended Mr Crabbe indefinitely alongside then-General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and then-Chairman Paul Afoko, for, among other things, making utterances that were injurious to the chances of the then-opposition party's presidential candidate at the time, Nana Akufo-Addo.
He sued the party in court over his suspension; however, the Accra High Court dismissed the suit.

fae mo dinn. ka wo ano paado. don't waste our time koraa with your unnecessary r a n t i n g s. you are off radar in your political life ke gye wo hum.
YOU WILL DO YOURSELF A LOT OF GOOD IF YOU SPEND TIME TO FIX YOUR CROOKED TEETH THAT ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND SPACE IN YOUR MOUTH RATHER THAN REPEATING THE HOGWASH THAT GOT YOU SUSPENDED WITH YOUR NATION WRECKERS. THE WINNING TRAIN IS ON THE MOVE SO NO LITTLE PEOPLE CAN DISTRACT THE DRIVER.
Children childish man
Sammy, where is this coming from now because I dont see the relevance of this statement in this current state of affairs? Could it be linked to asiedu nketia's assertion that mike oquaye is the worst speaker Ghana has had? The statement, therefore, made by you was to coincide with the agenda hatched by the ndc to paint the speaker black.
This man will never learn. Sammy Crab was an executive member of the party during the NPP parliamentary primaries and was suppose to stay neutral. Therefore claiming of helping one candidate against the other is clear contravention of the rules. Please stop disturbing us with this unnecessary noise.
See his nose, like a volcano about to erupt. Attention seeker!
massa gerrout for there!! omanborfuor
This "crab" just wants to make himself relevant abi? Assume without admitting that he helped Adjoa to win her seat, and so what? Fact is that, this "crab" and his accomplices set out to frustrate Nana Addo, but the NPP was smarter than them. They worked with Arthur K, Nyaho T and Wereko B. to execute that deadly agenda. Now that their plans failed and NPP is in power, they still want to remain relevant. No amount of screaming will save any of them. Thunder fire you all!
What has that got to do with us. The same way you helped someone to win you also tried to frustrate the president when he was campagnig for the presidency with you Chairman and General secretary.
Nobody in NPP SHOULD DISCUSS this attention SEEKER call CRAB! It is true CRABS do not have heads!
