Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has slammed some Members of Parliament for throwing shade at President Nana Akufo Addo.
The Minority in Parliament, earlier this week, called on the President to reduce his foreign travels, diplomatic relations and concentrate on fighting armed robbery in Ghana than promising to help the United States of America (USA) fight terrorism.
President Akufo-Addo at his meeting with governors in the USA on Sunday pledged Ghana’s commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the USA in the fight against terrorism and the promotion of fundamental human rights on the African continent and across the globe.
“ . . even our own domestic armed robberies, the number one thing that Ghanaians are crying about, run away anarchy in the country, lawlessness in Ghana, today Ghanaians cannot sleep, Ghanaians' security has been compromised, people are complaining all over, armed robbers are sacking and killing people all over the place, you [Akufo-Addo] have not finished that one and you are going to help America to fight terrorism”, he told the radio station’s Parliamentary correspondent.
“My brother it is enough to say that everybody can cooperate in the fight against terrorism but don’t go and tell them as if Ghana has the capacity to help them when even on our own shores, our own domestic crime is souring into the high heavens . . . charity begins at home, you haven’t finished with Peter, you are going to ask Paul to come and join the fight. Let us do our own thing first, you must first catch the madman before talking about shaving him", Minority Spokesperson on Communications, A.B.A. Fuseini said on an Accra-based radio station.
Addressing the issue on 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM, Mr. Baako questioned the logic in some assertions by some members of the opposition National Democartic Congress (NDC).
According to him, President Akufo-Addo's pledge to the US was in the right direction since as Head of State, he needs to enhance mutual international relations.
Kweku Baako asked critics of the president to "tone down the noise levels" because their game is too "crude and cheap".
He advised them to "leave these things for the serial callers".
He further noted that the President's commitment to support the US in the fight against terrorism doesn't mean he has abandoned his resolve to curb armed robberies and other related crimes including corruption.
He therefore described the critics as "intellectual midgets, some political windbags" for assuming the role of serial callers.

HAHAHAHA? SO KWEKU BAAKU TOO CALLS SOMEBODY INTELLECTUAL MIDGET?
THESE NDC NOISE MAKERS AND ***barred word*** THINK MAKING NOISE WILL ALLOW THEM TO WIN POWER. THEY SHOULD FORGET.THEY WILL NEVER COME TO POWER AGAIN. SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE 1992 CONSTITUTION, THEY HAVE NEVER WON ANY ELECTION GENUINELY.THEY ALWAYS RIG AND THEIR RIGGING MACHINE HAS BEEN DESTROYED.THEY SHOULD FORGET ABOUT COMING TO POWER AGAIN.THEY CAN SHOUT HOARSE,THEY WON'T WIN.
well said maan, these foes have forgotten they are parliamentarians. we pay you with tax payers money as parliamentarians so stop acting as Serial Callers, put your conduct in order as Law makers.
Kwaku you are not objective thats your problem.
Kweku thinks NPP and Nana Addo are God sent and therefore see these two entities are untouchable. The realities on the under ground is dire. The minorities have every right to be vigilant and hold the sitting government accountable for it actions and in actions. Kweku try to be pragmatic for your support for this government, they aren't saints after all. Just like all the previous governments that have gone by.
Kwaku has forgotten the noise npp were making when they were in opposition. Your hatred for JJ and NDC is too much. I bet u if JJ gets the chance again you will rot in jail.
The earlier the minority acts like a responsible the better it will be for all of them instead of acting like disjointed faction
Well said Kweku Baako, some of these NDC windbags are in a place they should not be, in Parliament. They have parliament a less respectful place to be.
Mr. Baako thank you very much. You are always on points.
