Seasoned journalist, Kwesi Pratt has chided President Akufo-Addo over the relocation of traders and artisans around his private residence at Nima.
The traders and artisans have been asked to vacate the premises for security reasons.
Though the people have traded at the President’s Nima residence for years and before Nana Akufo-Addo was elected as Head of State, it appears it is now crucial for them to be relocated, and according to a statement by Presidency; an agreement is locked on the issue between government and the residents.
But speaking on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Kwesi Pratt expressed disgust over the move by the government.
According to him, the traders and artisans have been engaging in their daily business routines without causing any problems to the President.
He further added that the President, on his part, won the hearts of the people to vote for him because of their relationship with him.
He therefore wondered when the traders became a threat to the President that their stay around his private residence is deemed to be of security concern; hence a reason for their relocation.
“What are you protecting the Head of State against?” Mr. Pratt asked, expounding further that “prior to the election, I saw my brother Nana Akufo-Addo joining queues; what trotro did he not board in Ghana? Which chop bar didn’t he go to? As for his Vice President Bawumia, when he goes to the chop bar; he doesn’t only eat the food but also takes the pestle to pound the fufu? The people were then not threats. So, it means change has come. When you become a President, then it means chop bar operators and workshop operators turn into threats?”.
He also sought to find out if the President is no more the “man of the people” as he was acclaimed before his election as President of the Republic.
Also registering his displeasure with the treatment meted out to the traders and artisans, Mr. Pratt asked why only the traders and artisans are requested to vacate the residence, saying “are the squatters, chop bar operators and the like the only people who can threaten the President? What of the very rich and wealthy people in the area? The people having a good life and owning beautiful houses around the President’s residence, are they not also threats?”

Mr Pratt when you talk like this you exude nothing but pure evil Your effusions are both childish and trite.Akuffo Addo the candidate is totally different from Akuffo Addo the president.Even though the chop bars themselves may not be a threat, does it not occur to your feeble intellect that people with ill intensions could get close to the president through them?In any case the decision to relocate the traders was not made by the president It is a decision by state security so if you have an axe to grind with anyone do it with them .Cheap political ***barred word***!
Mr Pratt stop this ***barred word*** .You becoming lazy to think far.Oh papa pratt you are wasteful somebody
Mr Pratt has sold his conscience to NDC. Why woudn't talk like that. He has a TV station by supporting NDC. He has a magnificent house at the mountains. He talks like a child. With a self-acclaimed accolade as senior journalist we expect some level of objectivity in his rantings but oh la la what do you Mr Pratt has become ***barred word***. Is he a beneficiary of WEoyome's loot? Mr Pratt will soon called to answer some few questions. Where is Ben Epson now? Kwesi Pratt watch out.
tell agya Pratt to wise up
my problem is, these squatters are every where, making the country loosing it's beauty. There is nothing a residential area anymore. Everywhere you pass, there is either a container or a kiosk, or a church. Can't we have our peace for a moment? it is time we st up our priorities
Because of selling his conscience to the NDC for money, house, and other material things, Kwesi Pratt can never tell the truth against the NDC Party. His hands are tied behind his back. Anything pertaining to NDC is evil.
I know Pratt makes little substance in his arguments but this line of reasoning is so low that I don’t expect from such a man. What a pity?
who even listens to Kwesi Pratt again. he has loss his integrity
“What are you protecting the Head of State against?” Is this a normal human being talking? This is unimaginable. You the same people who say Ghana is not safe and secure, and calling on the Police to do more to protect citizens, are turning round to say what are you protecting the Head of State against?!! I can't even find words to describe Kwesi Pratt in this context. People who reason like this are simply nation wreckers
Even Minority Leader who we all know is the NDC Mouth Piece speaks with Wisdom. Kwesi Pratt must know that the fact that he's taken money from NDC to speak for them does not mean he should sound FO0OLISH all the time. How can a grown up like you put yourself up for insults all the time? If not for anything think about your children and your dignity. We have people like Yaw Boateng Gyan, Allotey Jacobs, etc. all doing the bidding of NDC but they don't speak FO0OLISHLY like Kwesi Pratt. Sad for him! Go and read Jeremiah 17 vs 11 and you will know your end. By the way be ready because as a beneficiary of Wayome's courupt act, jail awaits you!!!
