A former Deputy Minister of Communications in the John Mahama administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu says he will never attempt to make the ‘treasonable’ comment made by his fellow party member, Koku Anyidoho.
According to him, Koku’s comments are “unfortunate” but the approach by the police to arrest him is also “laughable”.
The Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho is quoted to have said there will be a civil revolt to unseat the Akufo-Addo administration just as it happened on the 13th of January 1972.
Koku Anyidoho, in an interview on Accra-based Happy FM, indicated that President Akufo-Addo will be overthrown just like his father and the late Dr. K. A. Busia due to the ratification of the controversial defence cooperation agreement between the US and the government of Ghana.
“Somebody should tell Nana Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself. On the 13th of January 1972, a certain Colonel Ignatius Kutu Acheampong led an insurrection that removed the Progress Party from power. Busia was the Prime Minister and Akufo Addo’s father was the ceremonial President. Someone should tell Akufo-Addo that history has an interesting way of repeating itself,” Anyidoho warned.
Koku Anyidoho has been charged with treason, and thus refused bail, following his invitation to the Criminal Investigations Department [CID], on Tuesday.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed ‘Ghana Montie’, Felix Kwakye Ofosu noted that “Even though I will not make such utterances, I don’t see anything wrong with what Koku said. What Koku said wouldn’t bring any uprising. It’s unnecessary for the state to use state funds on Koku’s issue”.
“The charge of treason is not sustainable. His arrest is laughable. The police can be more professional if they want to”, he told host Akwesi Aboagye.

Why is NDC blowing hot and cold at the same time.can someone tell this baby with sharp teeth to stop this boofunary.if its not good its not good.
Just under two years in opposition and already frustrated, NDC...
Koku insulted Prez Kuffour before, but not this time.Akuffo Addo is like the late Victor Owusu who doesn't waste time on ***barred word*** stuff to sabotage the country's progress. Coup or no coup NDC will soon be plunged into oblivion because the leaders in the NDC are not learned socialists as compared to their counterparts in the Scandinavian countries. Active socialists work harmoniously with the government to achieve goals for a given country but not what we are seeing in Ghana. The USA deal is better for employment for the youth and we don't see the reason why NDC is doing all that.
Even without the President order for that S'ILLY BOY arrest they are crying. Akuffo Addo is thinking about the youth of this country and the economy NOT THAT F'OOOOOOL and His party executives.Fight your FIGHT & Live the Prez. alone.
Funny guy. You said the statement is unfortunate and at the same time you can't see anything wrong with it? how did it become unfortunte? double standard ***barred word***. You people think all Ghanaians are like your ***barred word*** soldiers? sorry
What do you expect from this "baby with sharp teeth" who has insulted many people who could be his father? I detest his utterances, behaviour and manners and always change to another channel/station when he comes on radio or tv.
what Koku said was over 'throwing an elected President and the constitution' of a country. this is so wrong. he even sighted historical happenings to support this awful events. no !!! this is so wrong and frightening. if you saw the Rawlings coup, probably you would have an ideas of coups. was Ghana better after the Rawlings coups? no. he killed a lot of citizens, rather needlessly. my aunty died because her cloths where sold and less than half the price she bought them. she died soon after that. this was the man who founded the NDC and i am not sure Rawlings would like to be treated the way he treated many others in the past. how much did Nana Konadu bought the Nsawan Canary? Rawlings was so wrong and so is Koku. let us condemn it because it was needless.
Kwasiakwa!!!
LOOK AT THE NDC BABY WITH THE VIPER MOUTH 'YAW PISEE" TOO SPITTING COW >>>> DUNG ; IF FELIX KWAKY THINKS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND WHAT KOKU SAID IS RIGHT BEESECH THE CLASSLESS FULL TO REPEAT THE SAME ON RADIO OR TV AND SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO HIM 'WO TI WO SAMIA" : NANA ADDO WILL NOT STAND FOR ANY BULL>>>>>>>>>SHEET : IF NDC THINKS THEY CAN COME TO POWER BY INCITING PUBLIC INSURRECTION THROUGH VIOLENCE THEY ARE WRONG : IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN !!!!!!!; NANA ADDO WILL CRUSH THEM -PERIOD !!!!
many insurrections starts with an inflammable statements or demonstration. check the Arab spring and how it started. what koku said is simply unacceptable and has to be condemn in every way possible.
