The Center for Democratic Development (CDD)’s latest Afrobarometer report has revealed that a relatively large number of Ghanaians trust the New Patriotic Party.
The 7th round of the survey which among other things sought to seek the opinions of Ghanaians as far as their confidence in some state institutions and political parties is concerned revealed that 33% of Ghanaians trust the ruling NPP government ‘a lot’ as compared to the 14% who don’t, 28% also indicated that they ‘somewhat’ trust the NPP.
The report also had 49% of respondents pledging their support for the NPP as against the 22% for the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Confidence levels in the police as an institution were however on the low side as majority represented by 34% maintained that they do not trust the police ‘at all’ as against the 18% who do. 22% and 24% of respondents answered ‘somewhat’ and ‘just a little’ respectively.
About the report
Afrobarometer is a pan-African, non-partisan research network that conducts public attitude surveys on democracy, governance, economic conditions, and related issues in countries across Africa. Six rounds of surveys were conducted between 1999 and 2015, and Round 7 surveys are being carried out in 2016-2017. Afrobarometer conducts face-to-face interviews in the language of the respondent’s choice with nationally representative samples of 1,200 or 2,400 respondents.
Afrobarometer is produced collaboratively by social scientists from across Africa. Coordination is provided by the Center for Democratic Development (CDD) in Ghana, the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) in South Africa, the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Nairobi in Kenya, and the Institute for Empirical Research in Political Economy (IREEP) in Benin. Michigan State University (MSU) and the University of Cape Town (UCT) provide technical support to the network.

IS THE SURVEY CONDUCTED LAST YEAR 2017 EARLY OR LATE AFTER THE GENERAL ELECTIONS IN 2017 SOMEBODY SHOULD EDUCATE ME. IF THE SURVEY WAS ONE CONDUCTED RECENTLY IT MAY HAVE IMPART NOT SOMEWHERE IN NOVENBER TO EITHER FEBRUARY OR MARCH IN 2017 WHEN THE NPP WAS STILL A CHEST-KNOCKING PARTY. CDD SHOULD HAVE PUBLISHED THIS REPORT LAST NOT THIS YEAR WHAT A BOGUS REPORT

Awanwasem! NPP are barely one year in office yet, they so bent on retaining office that they are sponsoring bogus survey about 2020 election. One would have thought that 2020 election survey would have been conducted in early 2020 by which time Ghanaians would have fully assessed the competence of the government based upon their living conditions. But so called CDD, an appendage of NPP keeps disturbing our years with bogus election surveys. Even if we are judging by what is going on without a survey, their world bank Ashanti region is said to be UT BANK in 2020 as many are disgruntled by how nana addo is redeveloping kyebi and neglecting Ashanti region.
(1)I trust Npp because since last year, My light have never gone off for more than 24 hours,.....NDC gave Ghanaian dumsor for more than 3 years, their keep giving reasons why dumsor still persist, I'm asking if those reasons doesn't exist anymore,(2) When my cooking gas finished i pick the cylinda go to any nearby gas station and fill my gas, Unlike Ndc time where most time their will be no gas for more than 2 weeks...this and many more are the reasons i trust Npp more than the NDC.
LAUGHABLE SURVEY. CDD, YOU CALL 33% AS LARGE MAJORITY OF GHANAIANS TRUST THE NPP? 33% IN ANY COURSE IN WHATEVER LEVEL IS A BIG FAIL AND CAN NEVER BE A PASS. IF THE CDD HAS CLANDESTINELY DECIDED TO GO AND CONDUCT THE SURVEY EVEN IN THE STRONGHOLDS OF THE NPP (IE ASHANTI AND EASTERN REGIONS) AND OBTAINED THE HIGHEST SCORE OF 33% WHICH THE CDD HAS APPROVED OF AS MAJORITY OF GHANAIANS TRUST THE NPP THEN YOU CAN IMAGINE THE HOPELESSNESS OF THE NPP GOVERNMENT. NO WHERE IN STATISTICS OF 33% OUT OF A 100% SCORE WOULD BE CONSIDERED A MAJORITY OF RESULTS. IF THE CDD HAS DECIDED TO OPENLY WEAR THE NPP CUP WHICH EVERRY REASONABLE GHANAIAN CAN EASILY ATEST TO THEY ARE FREE TO DO SO, IT IS THEIR INALLIENABLE RIGHTS WHICH CAN NOT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM. PERIOD!
