With few weeks to go for the crucial regional elections to select regional executives for the ruling New Patriotic Party, women organizers in the Ashanti Region have endorsed the candidature of one of the leading contenders, Madam Beatrice Owusu aka Aunty Bee.

Aunty Bee, who virtually performed the role as the women's organizer during the 2016 elections after the incumbent was said to have been indisposed, has been tipped by her lieutenants at the constituency level to lead the battle going into the 2020 elections.

The contestant, according to the women group, has firmly exhibited her competence and commitment to the role of leading the women in the region and deserves to be rewarded.

In a statement jointly signed by the Association's Spokespersons Abigail Osei Tawiah (Suame) Akua Afriyie (Old Tafo) Maame Yaa Ameyaa Agyeman, the women appealed to the delegates in the upcoming elections to vote massively for Aunty Bee as she is popularly referred to.

They pointed out that the region cannot repeat the mistake it committed in the previous elections by selecting someone who will eventually abandon her role during critical moment, adding that but for the resourcefulness of Aunty Bee, the party would have fallen short in terms of women mobilization.

The Association noted that they will feel comfortable working with Aunty Bee as a tried and tested leader.

"Mobilization of women during elections is not a small job: we can't repeat past mistakes that's why we are endorsing Aunty Bee because we believe she is the only candidate who can rally women in the region for the cause of the party" the women association emphasized
