Aspiring General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah has indicated that he will run an all inclusive administration when given the nod as the General Secretary of the party.
He made this statement when he paid a courtesy call on the New Patriotic delegates at Bole Bamboi in the Northern Region to familiarize himself with the delegates and sell his interest to the delegates.
Speaking to the delegates, he said; “One of the challenges that have impeded effective administration of the party has to do with the functional exclusion or inactivity of the two Deputy General Secretaries. As General Secretary, I will run an all inclusive team administration, not a one man show.”
According to him, the party's Constitution provides for deputy General Secretaries for a reason, adding that as General Secretary, he will ensure that the two deputy secretaries work and participate actively for the effective and efficient administration of the NPP.
“Functional inclusion will allow for the professional administration of the party.”
“Access to the General Secretary since coming into office in 2017, has been difficult and continues to be, but through the functional empowerment of the two deputy general secretaries, we will be able to increase access to party leadership and thereby increase support services for party members,” he added.
Mr. Ahiagbah also reiterated that his administration will build on the collective strength which will embrace the diversity of the party.
"As General Secretary, my administration will build on the collective strength of the NPP. It will be an administration that embraces the diversity of our party and harness same to forge a strong grassroots party to pursue our common dream of winning successively beyond two terms. Functional inclusion is the way forward for the NPP", he stressed.
