Retired Captain Edmund Kwadwo Koda, a top security aide to President Akufo-Addo has denied being robbed of an amount of GHc 800,000.
Monday, May 7, 2018 edition of the Herald newspaper published that the security capo was robbed at gunpoint by armed robbers in his house.
“The robbers were said to have expressed shock, seeing the amount of money the ex-army captain was keeping at home. The robbers were said to have daringly identified themselves as members of the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) Invincible Forces”, a portion of the publication read.
According to the Herald newspaper, the ruling Akufo-Addo administration is trying to cover up the incident.
In an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Monday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’ programme on Peace FM, Captain Koda denied the publication as spurious.
“It is not true . . . In the first place I don’t stay at Weija and where I stay currently; there has not been any robbery”, he said.
To him, Larry Alans Dogbe, the source of the story is ‘not fit to be an editor’ and further asserted that if the publication is part of an agenda set by the opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC), ‘it will not work’.
However, the Editor of the Accra daily, insists the story is true.
Speaking on the same platform, Monday, he suggested the incident is being covered up because it will be ‘embarrassing’ and an indictment on the part of Captain Koda to admit that he was robbed especially being a security kingpin to the first gentleman of the land.
“I am not surprised he is denying the publication . . . there is no doubt about the source of this story. You can check and crosscheck . . . it is a story that is known to a lot of people inside the Flagstaff House (the seat of government)," he added.
According to the Herald Newspaper, they were informed by multiple sources at the Jubilee House and the National Security Secretariat-Blue Gate, that the robbers numbeing about 12 and riding motorbikes, made away with a whopping sum of GHc 800,000 from the house, last Wednesday.
They also shot a brother in-law of Captain Koda in the arm, before fleeing with their booty.

Capt. Kodah should sue the Herald. They are bunch of liars and it is the work of NDC, their desperation and cheap politics. As Capt. Kodah said it will not work for them. Some things never change and that is NDC for you.
Hahahahahahahahaha MASREE SAAAAA ENTER TOILETEE. WHAT A STORY lARRY DOOOOGBE
The captain should sue the paper .Simple.Such stories are put out there to create the impressions that all the th13very that went on under Mahama are continuing under Nana Addo.Did the robbers pause to count the cash, note that there was 800,000 cedis there and exclaim 'oh what a shocking find' before fleeing on their motorbikes? This is the reason why the opposition newspapers don't sell .The editor must think we are all i-d-i-o-ts like him. Captain just sue.
So the armed robbers told the herald newspaper that they were shocked that Capt Koda had such an amount in his house. LARRY DOGBEY OF THE HERALD MUST BE ARRESTED. HIS NARRATIONS POINTS OUT THAT HE MIGHT BE AN ARRESTED.
NDC thinks the Captain Koda is like Obed Asamoah who put 300,000 under his bed for his security guards to steal. Because of this and other things like that of Okudzato Ablakwa's washing bay ***barred word*** you think everybody will put such huge money in the house. Pls find something better to tell Ghanaians.
This story seems exaggerated and untrue, how can armed robbers numbering 12 all on motor bikes. If the number is 3 to 4 robbers fine it could be true but almost all the armed robbers story the number is less
