Mr. Daniel Wiafe Akenten, a teacher and media practitioner has been elected as the Presiding Member (PM) of the Kintampo South District Assembly in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
His only contender, Mr Obed Sarfo Donkor, the incumbent, and Assembly Member for Suamire electoral area stepped down when none of the two contestants had been able to secure the two-thirds of the required votes after three rounds of voting.
The election was conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission at Jema, the District capital.
Mr Akenten, aged 39 and Assemblyman for Ampoma electoral area thanked them for the confidence they had reposed in him, and pledged to work in unison with all the members for development to thrive in the District.
