The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPA) Gifty Klenam has said she’s held back from commenting on happenings at the Authority as it has the potential of negatively affecting the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The former Member of Parliament for Upper West Akim constituency was one of four CEOs sacked by President Akufo Addo as part of what government said forms part of a restructuring exercise.
“It looks like I’m having certain level of challenges but I’ll not talk about it now, there are lots that I might not be able to point out today because the President appointed me and I give him the highest respect, I give the party the highest respect and it is a very young government. We cannot do anything that will tarnish the image of the government, so for me if you care, the reason why when this publication was out there I haven’t spoken is because I see the government as a very young government, it is very fragile and we cannot destroy it. It has taken us so much time, strength to get to where we are and we must uphold it with dignity.” She told Joy News.
A week after a new successor was appointed to replace her, Gifty Klenam insists she’s still at post, refusing to give way for Ms Afua Asabea Asare to take over.
Speaking from her home on Saturday, Gifty Klenam told Joy FM she has not received any formal communication from the Presidency asking her to vacate her post.
Meanwhile, the Presidency barely 48 hours after Klenam’s sack, a letter signed by the secretary of the president, Nana Asante Bediatuo, announced the appointement of Ms Asare as Gifty Klenam’s replacement.

Gifty grow up!! No one is ready to buy this. Keep quite and go through the process. If you are innocent, you will be vindicated. Dont create smokescreens.
She was not MP for Upper West Akim. It's rather Lower West Akim. Check your facts before writing. This writer should also be sacked, for misleading the public.
@corrupt ndc - it's only in Ghana that people are sacked from political parties.
'Tweaaaa, woni hweee beka.....' You are only BITTER. If indeed there is an EVIL activity, are you saying because of party, you are keeping quiet? Nation WRECKERS!
I did not see anything of the Kwame Nkrumah administration. Because I was a a Baby by then. But I saw Jerry John Rawlings, AFRC, PNDC 1 & 2, NDC 1 & 2. This Gifty Klenam comment or behavior has made me understand Kwame Nkrumah and J.J.Rawlings better. Why some unpatriotic people are put in House Arrest, Detention without Trial or sometimes get missing. When Gifty Klenam was given appointment, she was happy and never utter a word. Now that she is been booted, what is she saying ?. She is lucky, she is not serving under Late Kwame Nkrumah, or J.J.Rawlings. Like she will see where power lies.

When they appointed her ahead of other qualified Ghanaians, she was happy and felt good. Now she thinks the position is her private property so the appointing authority has no right to remove her. Such shameful and irritating posturing from this arrogant character. Let her collapse the NPP. 1diot!
