The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is considering appointing Mr Yaw Buabeng Asamoah as its substantive Communications Director.
This follows numerous concerns that the acting Director of Communications, Mr Yaw Adomako Baafi lacks the leadership qualities and acumen to lead the ruling party's communication machinery.
The NPP is yet to announce the new development but in a Facebook post Wednesday morning, Mr Gabby Asare Otchere Darko hinted that Mr Yaw Buabeng Asamoah is the new Director of Communications.
"Congrats to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah for your appointment as the new Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party. Clearly, there was a huge leadership vacuum in the ruling party’s communication machinery and we are all happy to hear that Chairman Blay, General John Boadu and the team have acted accordingly," Mr Asare Otchere Darko wrote.
Mr Adomako Baafi was made to act as the Communications Director after Nana Akomea relinquished the position in 2017 to take a new appointment as the Managing Director of the state transport company, Intercity STC.
In a radio interview on Accra based Okay FM, Wednesday morning, the General Secretary of the NPP, Mr John Boadu confirmed there were some discussions ongoing but denied a firm decision has been taken as of now.

This Buabeng man is incompetent as well, come to his constituency nothing is going on. He cannot even lobby for basic infrastructure. All the roads from Ashley Botwey, School Junction through to East Legon Hills, Nana Junction to be precise is so bad. He cannot arrange with the assembly to grade the roads but rather wants additional responsibility and when cannot be trusted with the little given him. I do not buy this idea NPP
Mr Berfi requested for some logistics to make him and his team perform well. Have those logistics been made available to him and still not performing? or the NPP just want to replace him with Buabeng Asamoah? NPP should not do anything to hurt Mr. Berfi. No we will not tolerate unhealthy things of that nature. This is unfair
I didnt like the way John Boadu answered the question put him concerning Berfi this morning. For him his position is a done dill. But who said he deserve the General Secretary Position. He is inexperience and we know with time he can do well. But John cannot put his head down for Berfi and even plead for him but from the way he spoke he is in support of what is going on. No condition is permanent. Some of us have followed politics for sometime now. A similar thing was done to Dan Botwey when he became the party Secretary. When the party won they sideline him. NOw you want to do same to Adomako Berfi.
NPP will not learn from the past. When it comes to handling of issue, it is zero. You don't stab Adomakuma Berfi in the back. When nobody was ready to speak for the party he was one of those committed to the party. At a point you could hear the had spoken for the party and has lost his voice. Where was Buabeng Asamoah? I dont have a problem of Berfi being replaced with Buabeng. My problem is how the party is handling the issue. Dont you have s e n s e party executive. If you dont not what to do follow this steps. 1. Call Mr. Berfi and let him know your plans of changing him. Explain to him why want to do so. 2. If he agrees, give him an offer, or ask him to tell you what he wants in place of the Communication job he was doing. 3. Take him to his new position before you come on air to announce of his new position and who ever wants to take his current position. This simple thing a whole party machinery cannot do. Rather you prefer to disgrace Berfi as incompetent before you go and tell him to quit his position. This is unfair. I personally do not like the way Berfi is being treated. NPP executives wise up.
You don't visit your constituency all you want is somebody's position. Please tell the party executives that you are unable to do your work as MP and that you cannot take the communication position. You know Adenta MP position is swings. Instead of you to pay attention to the problems and be going round see to the problems, you rather want another post which is somebody's. why I'm afraid if you continue this way you will loose your seat as MP. Come to school junction the road is so bad. Please liaise with the assembly to solve our problems in the Constituency.
Nana Junction got flooded during the monday rains. We need dredged gutters and construction on of bigger drainage.
YB, please we are not seeing your performance as our MP ooo. Sit up
