The Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the cedi as ‘mentally deranged’.
According to Bernard Allotey Jacobs, the rapid depreciation of the cedi is collapsing businesses in the country.
“Ghana’s cedi is mad and needs to be checked at the ‘hospital’ because the depreciation of the cedi is really crippling businesses in the country,” he said on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” on Tuesday.
Allotey Jacobs said the economy has grown from bad to worse thus charged government to urgently arrest the rapid depreciation of the cedi to make the campaign for businesses workable.
Conceding that Ghana’s economy is in crisis, the NDC man called for a non-partisan approach to save the economy from collapse.
According to Allotey Jacobs, it is incumbent on Ghanaians to rise up in 2020 and help the NDC rebuild a country.

If all the hard currency hidden in the NDC ministers, deputy ministers and the party members are brought back to the system, the cedi will be stable. It starts from somewhere.
when NDC came to power in 2009, the cedi was Gh1.20 to a dollar, after eight years it ballooned to Gh4.30, so Mr. Allotey come again.
NPP is fixing Ghana's economy fully, and they will be given the room and space to operate boldly with absolute conviction and focus, to deliver for this country progress and prosperity and a Ghana far, far beyond aid. It's an ironclad resolute contract between Ghana and the NPP party.
