General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, John Boadu, says Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has no role in the Akufo-Addo government hence whatever he says should be treated as his personal comments.
Mr. Otchere-Darko who is the nephew of President Akufo-Addo has been viewed by many as a powerful member of the government because he appears to have a great deal of knowledge on the government decisions.
His influence, perhaps, caused the Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulema Braimah, to ask what the role of Mr. Otchere-Darko is in the NPP government since he has been “all over on government matters”; a question that attracted varied views on Facebook on August 6.
But Mr. Boadu on Wednesday set the record straight on the issue when he said the founder of the Danquah Institute currently has no role to play in the government.
“He [Gabby] has no role,” Mr. Boadu stated on 3FM, adding that there have been a number of things that Mr. Otchere-Darko have come out to say about the government that turned out not to be true.
Gabby “said that there is going to be VAT and was there a VAT in the supplementary budget?,” the General Secretary asked.
“I am saying that we should take his comments as comments coming from you or coming from me. It is not decision of government. Government decision has a channel and platform that it is communicated,” he added.
John boadu said some of the comments coming from people within the NP should be taken with a pinch of salt as they are personal comments and not representing the position of the government.

Have you realised we the people who voted the NPP to power are no longer interested in maligning or NDC matters, it's time for NPP to revise it's notes else 2020 won't be easy. Pls let's see some actions on the ***barred word*** and scandals in the banking industry. Ghanaians are listening and watching.
Blaa John please spare us your sermon... who in Ghana doesn't know Gabby Okyere Darko is now the Prime Minister of Ghana.
Ot is in the extreme interst of Mr. Okyerez-Darko, the President and NPP for Mr. Okyere-Darko to tone down on his comments because these comments serve nobody but are really irritating.
Incompetent John Boadu. Is it the right way to govern? Allowing nonentities in the party to be all over talking about things government haven't decided on? What are you doing as a general secretary? If you think Gabby is just like anyone talking try and stop him and you will surely see your smoothness level.
Gabby, your noise does not reflect the IDEAS of OUR CHERISHED J B DANKWA and leave Nana alone to translate those dreams into reality, within our life time.
That Gabby guy is a real bore! I agree with asgil that you the Senior members of the party should shut him down because he comes out in a very snobbish manner which is really irritating. You guys managed to shut him up for the 2016 elections and i believe it really helped your cause!!!
John Boadu sit there and tell us Gabby has no role. The grass root are complaining bitterly because your selfish interest. You guys wanted to destroy AGYAKO and now you have IT.You have destroy our communication team and no one is ready to do the SAME.Remember when you're booted out of POWER YOU BECOME ***barred word*** NO MATTER THE MONEY YOU MADE IN GOV'T. We wait to SEE who is NEXT. Nana Addo was unpopular to Ghanaians because of this same GABBY.Now look at what he is doing,if you guys don't advise yourselves you are going to laugh at the wrong side come 2020.All we need is for NDC to change MAHAMA and bring any credible CANDIDATE.
As a general secretary, u're expected to shout such individuals down cos his attitude is too irritating. His style of handling things is outmoded as well.
I’d rather you tell me the teuth that to treat me as a ***barred word***. Because we are all seeing the ongoings and know what he says are not personal comments. 2020 is coming
The VAT thing was to test the waters to see ghanaians reaction. And they withdrew. We all know the power he wields in this government.
