President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced his first ever reshuffle a couple of minutes ago.

The long-awaited ministerial reshuffle has seen some appointees reassigned to either head or deputize at other ministries.

News of the highly-anticipated ministerial musical chairs, seen by many as a means to inject some life into the current administration, have been trending for days now on social media.

The announcement therefore comes as no surprise to many. But what is shocking, however, is the list of appointees that appear to have been assigned lesser roles of importance in his administration.

The casualties include notables such as the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, Otiko Afisah-Djaba.

She is now Ambassador-designate to Italy.

Hon Cynthia Morrison, MP for Agona West, is now the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection-designate.

Otiko Djabah is not the only person out of Nana Addo's cabinet; more are expected in the coming days.

But it is noteworthy that Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Kofi Adda, who was recently in the news for ‘doling out’ 30,000 cedis of his MP’s Common Fund to a church in his constituency, has been asked to head the Aviation Ministry.

Cecilia Dapaah, who formerly headed the Aviation Ministry, is now Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, with a major task of cleaning the filth in the major capitals.

Interestingly, Information Minister Mustapha Hamid has been reassigned to the Ministry of Inner City and Zongo Development. Whiles a Deputy Minister for Information and MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has been elevated to that substantive office.

With the recent scandal over the AMERI power deal which has claimed the job of Hon Boakye Agyarko, the man tasked to temporarily hold the fort at the Energy Ministry, John Peter Amewu has been maintained.

Peter Amewu will have a responsibility to bring some calmness at the Energy Ministry which has suffered a lot of heat over the last few days.

Also, Pius Enam Hadzide, former deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, has been moved to the Information Ministry as a deputy.

While, Perry Curtis Okudzeto, former deputy Minister for Information, is now Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports.

A statement signed by the Communications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, added that President Akufo-Addo is "hopeful Parliament will expedite the vetting" of the reassigned Ministers and their deputies "so they can assume their respective offices as quickly as possible".

if anyone cares to educate me, why do we still have 110 ministers of state and why is Kofi Adda still at post?? when i went to purchase prepaid electricity today, i was charged service tax of 8.00 per month. the old man should have just retired. now everyone is paying the price of our folly.

The reshuffle is an excellent one, with the new ministers, it tells u the President means business and wants to lessen the burdens and plights of Ghanaians. Past presidents haven't done much especially with the NDC in the last 8 years. How comes Ghana's economy has not been digitised till now? Its ridiculoussss and I'm happy this President is taking bold steps to formalise the economy and the people - the effect of this is going to be very beneficial to all citizenry in the next 10years plus the free SHS - such a wonderful idea. I had the privilege of being where I am today, thanks to secondary education - anyone who doesn't attend SHS will be a waste in the world's advancing society - there is no where you can fit in, in next 20-50 years if we don't educate ourselves very well. our unemployment levels are coming down, thanks to this innovative and compassionate president - he deserves another 4 year term to ensure all the programmes outlined have been implemented to relieve Ghanaians of their poverty. Long Live Ghana.

Name: AVIATION
I AM WORRIED ABOUT SENDING KOFI ADA TO AVIATION. CECILIA DAPAA HAS WORK SO HARD AT THE AVIATION MINISTRY. KOFI ADA, JUST EXACTLY BY HIS NAME, SLEPT ON THE JOB. I PRAY THAT HE WOULD WAKE UP THIS TIME TO CONTINUE THE HARD WORKING OF THE CECILIA DARPAA. I WISH CECILIA WELL IN HER NEW MINISTRY. I HOPE SHE WILL DO A GOOD JOB AS SHE HAD DONE AT AVIATION TO THE CALIBRE OF HIS WORTH TO ALL THE WORLD. MANY HAD THOUGHT ABOUT THE SACKING OF KOFI ADA. THIS IS HIS LAST STOP. IF HE FAILS TO PERFORM, HE WILL HAVE NO EXCUSE AND NOBODY WOULD HAVE SYMPATHY FOR HIM WHEN SACKED.

I WAS WONDERING ABOUT WHY AKUFO ADDO SHOULD SACK AGYAARKO IF HE WAS GOING TO DO RESHUFFLE IN A SHORT A POSSIBLE TIME, LESS THAN ONE WEEK. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCE, ONE WOULD HAVE EXPECTED TO INCLUDE THE SACK IN THE RESHUFFLE BY TAKING AGYARKO OUT OF HIS ENERGY OFFICE WITHOUT BEING REASSIGNED. SUCH A MOVE WOULD HAVE LEFT SLEEPING DOGS LIE. THE DECISION TO SACK AGYARKO BEFORE THE RESHUFFLE IS A VERY POWERFUL SIGNAL TO ALL APPOINTEES OF NANA ADDO THAT NANA WOULD NOT SPARE NOR HIDE ANYBODY WHO MIGHT LACK THE CAPACITY TO HANDLE THEIR OFFICES ADEQUATELY.

the most u.seless reshuffle ever. this man is disappointing most of us. the reshuffle we were waiting for is the one done. we needed the numbers from 110 to about 75. we needed some faces to get out notably ursula, frimpong boateng, atta akyea, asiamah (sports minister), agric minister, patricia appiagyei, cut the information ministry deputies to only one. KWAKU AGYEMENAG MANU SHOULD BE OUT. infact is it by accident or deception that nana is making Ghana that ba.d?, wow, is time we wake up before 2019 to gear up for 2020 election. minister of state at the office of the vice president?, hahahahaha even rawlings wont do that, if you are afraid to sack him, at least give him a descent appointment. is time we change oseei kyei mensah bonsu from parliament to be chief of state to shake the nation, the woman is that weak to hold the fort like kwadwo mpianim did. is this our NPP?, kyeremeh doing timber business in B/A accused by a member of the party and regional party executive now at Lands?, hahaha GALAMSY GALORE

Competent barwumia still need a minister to discharge his duties, what a bunch of jokers. There is no where in the world that a vice president is given a substantive minister to work with. So nana addo came to power to just be appointing ministerial positions as if its kelewele. Ironically this man sack, he and his vice were so competent, so why are competent men running into so much trouble to the extent of giving vice president a minister to work with. Asem ben koraa nie! Nana addo, you are messing up big time. Shine your eyes.

Hamid is completing his political career slowing. Watch out. He cannot insult his father's peers and survive. He should let his attitude reflect to the Islam he claimed he has knowledge of. All politicians should remember that politics is a timeline business. Foreseeable future is not guaranteed.
