The Central Regional Chairman of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has cautioned Alban Sumana Bagbin, who is vying for the flagbearership slot of the party, to cease his needless verbal attacks on former President John Dramani Mahama or 'it will not bode well for him".
Hon Bagbin, Member of Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo, stepped on the wrong side of his fellow NDC members after launching a blistering verbal onslaught against Mr Mahama.
The Second Deputy Speaker compared the former president to a "reckless driver" who is likely to run the party into a ditch. (click to read)
He said although he warned Mr Mahama and his men about the dangers ahead in the 2016 elections, he was ignored and so he wants to prevent another defeat in 2020, a reason he is pushing for the party's leadership to be changed.
But Allotey Jacobs who was peeved with Bagbin's utterances suggested that the latter is not going to win the flagbearership race because the only candidate for that position is John Mahama.
"Which other flagbearer? We have only one flagbearer; it is John Mahama; there is no two ways about it. You need to manage your utterances; Bagbin, I am advising you or it will never go well for you. You (Bagbin) have built an image for yourself. Bagbin is an institution. Even if Mahama is doing something wrong you don’t wash your dirty linen in public. You don’t go public to denigrate John Mahama" he said during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Wednesday.

NDC as a political party has no Tradition and philosophy. Their much touted or acclaimed Social Democrats is a borrowed one. Propaganda, lies, and populism have become a hallmark of the NDC. I can't remember the last time the NDC as a political party contributed ideologically and constructively to a national issue or discourse, except always struggling desperately on polemics and populism as if propaganda is the main opposition party policy. I listened to Mr. Goosie Tanoh and I said wow is this gentleman really, a member of the NDC? In the light of his intellect, credibility, and resolve to impart a positive change, I doubt, he fits in with the membership of the NDC.
ALLOTEY JACOBS, YOU HAVE HIT THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD WITH R*A*PT PRECISION
