The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has challenged former president John Mahama, to use pulpits within churches to confess his sins and apologize to Ghanaians how he used political power to stifle them of progress rather than preaching empty bible messages to them to look clean.
If given an opportunity to speak in a church, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako contends that “one mustn’t tell lies. Former president Mahama hasn’t changed from his old ways, he still tells lies. If Ghana’s economy is being challenged today, the former president is expected to tell congregants the major role he played in contributing to the hardships. Is the former president taking new lessons from Satan?”.
Last Sunday, former president Mahama was reported to have encouraged Ghanaians to be thankful for the situation they find themselves because God is preparing them for something better.
He said with the country’s current economy which is receiving harsh criticisms from a lot of people, the country has to seek the favour of God.
He made the above statement at the Ringway Assemblies of God Church. on Sunday, In the midst of hardship, former president Mahama noted that “if you seek the favour of god you will reap 100 folds.”
But reacting to the statements, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi urged Ghanaians to reject former president Mahama in the 2020 polls because he “destroyed Ghana’s economy” and “stole” from us when he was given the chance to be president.
Chairman Wontumi admitted that despite the acute hardships Ghanaians are facing, an able team led by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia, were setting up measures to correct the wrongs of former president Mahama and the NDC.
“Don’t get touched when former president John Mahama preaches to you. He is only using God’s word for propaganda purposes”, he warned.
He further challenged the former presdent to make his voice heard on issues that made the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) under his presidency fail and bad decisions he took to collapse the nations’ banking sector before leaving office.
