Member of Parliament for Tafo-Pankrono in the Ashanti Region, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei has downplayed the disruption of a meeting between him and some constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) by some members of vigilante group Delta Force.
According to the lawmaker, he has no grudge with the pro-NPP security group and, therefore, cannot say the irate young men who disrupted his meeting on Sunday, 7 October 2018 were there to attack him.
Dr Akoto Osei and the DCE were allegedly chased out by the group during the onslaught.
The MP, who was at the said meeting with polling station executives to inaugurate two party committees, was whisked to safety when the aggrieved Delta Force members invaded the venue of the gathering.
The lawmaker, who is also the Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation told Class News: “We were about to begin a meeting of polling station constituency executives, we were about to swear in two committees and then I heard a melee and then people scattered and I decided that I won’t stay around.
“I told to the MCE that I was going home… I spoke to the MCE and he told me he was at the police station doing what was necessary as the chairman of the Municipal Security Council.
“I cannot say they were coming to attack me because I don’t have any personal quarrel with them but they disrupted the meeting and that one is very clear… but it will be wrong for me to say that they were coming to attack me.
“I’ve not talked to the group for the longest time. There may be things in there that I’m not aware of... I haven’t spoken to them in a long time, they have not called me, and, so, I don’t want to say they have a personal grudge with me; that will be wrong”.
Meanwhile, members of the Delta Force have justified the attack and disruption of the meeting. The group claimed they had been neglected since the NPP won the 2016 elections.
A member of the group, Hark Musah Kasuree told Class News: “They [NPP] promised to give us jobs, but they are in power and have not given us jobs… They promised us jobs in the military, police and fire service and the boys agreed and that is why they followed the NPP during the campaign… That is why we were there to take action.”

Let your big big English vote for npp in 2020..... Destroying banks in the name of building the banking sector... Worsening living conditions in gh daily.... Menzgold, DKM, seven collapsed banks victims etc will make npp lose over a million voters definitely... Npp lacks common sense paaa......
We always cry about how corrupt our leaders are, yet we expect them to sneak us into public services like police and armed forces. we expect them to feed and clothe us. where do we expect them to get all these things from? this is the exact reason why NDC has support. NDC only cares about winning votes so they will create, loot and share just to be able to satisfy their support base at the expense of the state. NPP on the other hand is not good at this thereby creating disaffection in its base. Politicians do not develop a country. It’s the people in the country who do and the only time the people can stand up to this task is when they cease over dependence on the government. The American economy added over 130,000 jobs in September alone. Over a million jobs have been added this year. Find out how many of this was created by Uncle Sam. It’s the private sector that have taken advantage of the conducive economic environment to create these jobs. We the people must change our work habits and try to solve our own problems. This may not make sense to the ordinary person but our desire to solve our own problems will cause us to develop the necessary skills needed to solve them. I saw a picture of a guy carrying 3 cement blocks while holding two. I saw someone blaming that on wicked African leaders. I doubt it if it was Nana Addo or John Mahama who instructed the laborer to go adopt such a tedious approach. I appreciate the laborers hard work but a simple pulley and trolley system that ancient Egyptians used in building their pyramids will have lightened his burden. Look around you, solve something simple. We need to change our mentality.
Menzgold for over five years were paying dividends to customers without any hitches... Till npp and BOG destroyed Menzgold with their vindictiveness.... It's time to punish npp in 2020...... Roads have been abandoned seriously causing completely deteriorated roads.... It's true.... Npp has abandoned road projects everywhere and we see the worsening roads ourselves... So npp stop thinking we are ***barred word***.... 2019 is just at the corner.... Get ready to lose 2020..... Under ndc and JOHNMAHAMA we were suffering but eating daily.... Under npp we're suffering and starving daily.... We have seen panic withdrawals, collapsing of private banks using big big English....unemployment rate is increasing daily...... Menzgold destruction, victims will teach corrupt npp a lesson worse than ndc suffered...... Victim of Menzgold, victims of DKM, victims of seven collapsed banks will totally guarantee ndc over a million votes... It's only a moronic arrogant npp that will not see themselves being shot in the foot...... Book long has dulled their brains..... Elections loss will wake them up from slumber..... Menzgold never defaulted even a single customers payment of dividend in FIVE YEARS YET VINDICTIVE NPP SAW IT FIT TO DESTROY THEM..... WE WAIT TO SEE... MEANWHILE DEFAULTERS OF GARGANTUAN LOANS FROM THE SEVEN COLLAPSED BANKS ARE WALKING FREE AND THE BANKS ARE GOING TO BE BAILED OUT WITH TAX PRAYERS MONIES, 13 BILLION GHC..... THIS IS CREATE LOOT AND SHARE UNDER NANADDO AND NPP.... WHY NOT CONFISCATE ASSETS OF DEFAULTERS TO REDEEM THOSE UNPAID LOANS.... WHY WHY WHY... YET YOU ARE CAUSING PANIC WITHDRAWALS EVERYWHERE AND DESTROYING GHANAIANS BUSINESSES.....
Behind every lawlessness there is a Muslim. When they are killing somebody, they will recite 'Allakubar', meaning God is great. They are associated with anything evil and chaos.
You promised them Jobs when you know they do not have the necessary qualifications. Why? , this is total deception. My advice to these groups is that our political leaders have nothing to offer them. Weigh yourself (qualification) and see what you can do for yourself and stop depending on these liars.
I hope NDC is learning something from the NPP. Pls no body want to be promised and failed. This groups are net necessary but rather create an enabling environment for all Ghanaians to work and make money.
