Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Eugene Boakye Antwi is calling for a "tit for tat" action to settle out issues of hooliganism.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Hon. Boakye Antwi told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that hooliganism has been made to fester in the country because the actors escape from the claws of the country’s laws due to interferences by political bigwigs.

To him, just because when a gang exhibits violent behaviors towards an individual and are set free instead of facing the full rigors of the law; they tend to perpetuate such acts with sheer impunity.

According to him, his resolution to a violent attack is to take revenge as he believes "tit for tat" is a fair game.

He was commenting on the recent attack by members of pro-NPP vigilante group, Delta Force, on the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei who doubles as Minister of State for Monitoring and Evaluation.

Some muscular men stormed a meeting of constituency executives chaired by Dr. Akoto Osei over the weekend.

The heavily-built men allegedly wanted to assault the Minister but he managed to escape unscathed.

Hon. Boakye Antwi condemned the action by the pro-NPP gang but cited situations where incidents of this sort become "foolish case" because these gang members have affiliation with some big names in the leadership cadre of the government.

“My belief is that when someone tries to attack your life, that’s not politics. I’ve always said that I’m not going to attack or beat anybody as an MP but if I send someone and you beat the person, I won’t send it to the Police station . . . For me if it’s Opanyin Agyekum’s son I sent and you use blade to cut his ear, I have to also ensure you get the same mark immediately,” he stressed.
