Former Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Bonsu, who has declared his intention to contest for the flagbearership position in the opposition NDC is pleading with his party supporters and Ghanaians in general to donate money to support his ambition.
Kojo Bonsu took to social media, Facebook, to solicit for funds with assurance of uniting the party for victory in the 2020 election.
“Make your 2020 contribution to the unity and victory of the NDC. However humble or generous, your contribution will help build a united and victorious NDC by supporting Kojo Bonsu as NDC flagbearer,” he posted.
Many have raised questions about Mr Bonsu’s intention to run for the presidency and why he did not back his former boss, former President John Dramani Mahama.
But Kojo Bonsu has explained that - “The party grassroots say I am handsome and if I contest I will become President. So I did a number of consultations before arriving at the decision to contest as Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).”
"They have asked that I should go for the ultimate because I am charming and it will fit me. I can put things in place so I listened to them and did consultations before coming to announce my decision to contest,” he added.

HANDSOME KOJO BONSU, WELCOME TO THE PARTY. IF PRESIDENCY IS ABOUT WHO IS HANDSOME, LIKE THE NPP WOULD NEVER GHAVE WON ELECTIONS IN 2000, AND 2016. ITS ABOUT VISION.
The poverty in his reason for contesting is puerile and nauseating, handsome and charming!!!! Really, is that all it takes to run for president? I thought he will be espousing his view on major policies and providing alternatives. This Joker wont get far.
