CONTROVERSIAL LEGAL Practitioner and Social Commentator, Maurice Ampaw, says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is slowly losing political power.
According to him, economic hardship in the country is rising to unimaginable levels and said he was afraid the electorate might reject the NPP during the 2020 polls.
He said he was surprised about the fact that President Nana Akufo-Addo seemed unconcerned even as his administration continued to fumble on a daily basis.
“Nana Akufo-Addo is losing political power, so can’t he see?” the popular lawyer asked Kofi Asante of Nhyira FM on Tuesday.
He said even though it was not his wish for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to return to power in 2020, the NPP might hand power over to the NDC in 2020.
“I see the NPP losing political power in 2020. I don’t want the NDC back to power but the NPP may hand over power to them on a silver platter.
“The hardship may force Ghanaians, especially the NPP supporters, not to visit the polling centers to vote and this may favour the NDC to return to power”.
According to Ampaw, aside the hardship, President Akufo-Addo also seemed to be losing the battle against.
“I am surprised and shocked about Nana Akufo-Addo’s approach about corruption. He is clearly presiding over corruption and I am shocked”.
Maurice Ampaw said Ghanaians had much hope in President Akufo-Addo to stop corruption “but I am not impressed about his output so far”.

So does the ndc think they have hope in 2020 then they are really f000*00ls who should not be take serious! there is no way the 1.5 million ndc dificit can be overturned to victory for the ndc in 4 years they are joking! what is their message? music? if that is their message Onaapo could have eon them in 2016! ndc are shallow minded, how could think with these interventions the people could be so st*upid to vote for create l00t and share, how could you think Ghanaians will vote for insults and disrespect are you people sound? 2020,we will see what ndc will show to convince the people they are better so deserve to come back and cause more damage! Ghanaians ain't f000*00ls ! 2020 : ndc -33%
Mr Maurice Ampaw it will be better to direct your frustration to the ndc! Nana came to meet nothing (yawe nam no aka dompe) he came to meet an indebted NHIS, he met debt at every corner of our economy and how could we swim in debts and hope to survive? Maurice Ampaw do you know Ghana was under IMF ? And that was hurting the country and who took us there? so,you telling us those who took us to the IMF and indebted the country are now being preferred to those who are taking them out so Ghanaians have to also sacrifice? I'm highly disappointed in a man who is learned and should know better, talking like an ndc serial caller. If we are not ready to sacrifice for our country and the next generation nut want to eat everything today the f00**00ls will continue to rule Ghana like a jungle! even ndc elders know their party lack kritical thinkers. Doom sayers will never succeed! Accra is not Ghana and Ghana is not Accra so if you live in Accra and you talk like that it's up to you ! Ghana Is Working !
OBLONG HEAD, SO YOU THINK? ALLAH BA MU LAFIA. DO NOT DECEIVE YOURSELF. DO NOT TALK LOOSELY.
NDC has no body to win for them, the problem we face during NDC time, will never bring NDC back into power, not think we're ***barred word***, from 2013 NDC build the government for them self, now everybody can see that we have president in the country, if you listen to OBED ASAMOAH, he said NANA is in control, before NPP came to power, my brother was paying about 10.000$ import duty and the $ was 4 cedis, but now, the same products that I am also bring to Ghana even though the $ is 4.7 it coast me 35000 cedis as import duty, the only problem NPP has is that they promised to jail some people believe to be found guilty of corruption, doing so you have to take your time but in terms of government NPP is doing well.
I KNOW YOU WILL RECEIVE A LOT OF FLACKING FOR THIS BUT YOU ARE BEING VERY TRUFUL
Talking about Mahama as an alternative replacement for Nana Addo aahhh. Who is loosing power to who. Opportunistic
After making Ghanaians lose all their investments, NPP government is boasting that it has succeeded in bringing down inflation to 9.5% the lowest since 2013. Is this the change that NPP promised Ghanaians? Thank you Mr. Lawyer Ampaw for hitting the nail on its head.I am prepared to vote for NDC if they present a candidate other than Mr. John Mahama. Long Live Ghana!
How on earth do you speak like this? Give the specifics. What at all is wrong? Mention them and stop the unscientific talk. You refused to take position in government. Stop the blame game. Your nephews are st school enjoying 3 meals s day. You cay their feed so do it.
Even Nana him self know he is going to lose coming 2020 they is nothing he can do about it. MAHAMA ALL THE WAY IN 2020.
You be spinning your head in 2020, sit down and talk about someone's analysis not being scientific. The people of adenta voted for npp, but when it came to wanting a footbridge the didn't keep quiet, they demonstrated, butning tires. Ampaw himself is npp sympathizer and he is telling you this. If you this everything is alright, hurray to you. In 2016, ndc thought Ghanaians would retain them because of infrastructure project they were doing across Ghana, they ended up losing by almost one million. If nana addo thinks free SHS would save him, he should sit unconcerned, i will not be surprised when the SHS students rather vote against him because of the disadvantages of the program. Ghanaians are unpredictable, Rawlings, kuffour, and mahama losing power tells it all.
