Former Communication Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has asked Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to critically 'consider' the proposed project to use drones to distribute essential drugs and blood to remote areas of the country.
The Minority members of Parliament have kicked against the $12 million contract between government and Zipline International for the drones.
However, Government has debunked claims by the Minority that it was purchasing drones under the Ministry of Health Ghana Drone Delivery Project.
The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Nsiah Asare also said government was not purchasing drones as widely speculated by the minority and sections of the media.
“We bear no risk for the installation, the operation is not to our cost, a contract is purely a service contract,” he stated.
But in a comment on his facebook wall, Omane Boamah asked Bawumia to "please consider the following":
1. Cost Benefit Analysis;
2. Cost Utility Analysis &
3. Cost Quality Analysis.

Do we even have the products to put these drones into full use? No value for money. And with our poor maintenance culture, I doubt if we can keep pace with the fast changes in technology to efficiently handle and maintain the drones. What immediately comes to mind is our ambulance services in the country.
Koronfuo,do your party know cost benefit analysis,a who airport in St Helena built by the British government at a of cost £280 million. Your NDC government built just one terminal at Kotoka for $290 million, you are not ashamed of yourself.When you were a communications minister, you signed a dubious contract that your private company was getting GH 90,000 a day. You wait your case is pending at the special prosecutor's office. Afiafitor
I also want to ask... What was the cost benefit analysis, cost utility analysis and cost quality analysis of the rotten Mahama bus branding? These NDC people are hypocrates. Enjoy your opposition.
