Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and MP for Suame, Hon. Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has disclosed that over forty (40) Bills are to be laid before the House this session.

The bills are various government policies which needs parliamentary approval.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he explained that they have a stock pile of work due the lengthy vacation.

"But we will work on time to have all these bills that have been brought before the house passed.

"These bills are connected to what the ministries have to do and that as parliament we will have to speed them up to enable the various ministries work on government policies and programmes," he said.

Parliament reconvened on Tuesday, 29 January 2019, from their long Christmas break to begin the first meeting of the Third Session of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The House, among other things, is expected to deliberate on the passage of the age-old Right To Information (RTI) Bill as well as the State of the Nation Address to be delivered by President Nana Akufo-Addo next month.

Members will also debate and approve the Holidays Amendment Bill which seeks to introduce two new holidays in the country.
