NPP Member of Parliament [MP] for Manhyia North constituency, Collins Owusu Amankwah says NDC National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi must be schooled on how to engage in a healthy political radio or television discourse.
According to him, Sammy Gyamfi’s style of casting aspersions on fellow panelists through innuendos during debates must be condemned.
“He is very young, he must learn,” he said.
The lawmaker was discussing last Friday’s incident in the studios of Accra based Asempa FM, where the National Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP], Henry Nana Boakye popularly known as ‘Nana B' crossly banged the head of NDC National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.
The Accra-based radio station was discussing the violence that rocked the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by-election, which was won by the NPP's Seyram Lydia Alhassan.
Collins Owusu Amankwah, who was also captured in the heated discussion with Sammy Gyamfi on that fateful day, described the incident as “unfortunate”.
Speaking in an interview with Akwasi Aboagye on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, he said the element of wildness exhibited by Sammy Gyamfi in the course of the debate, portrayed someone who appeared to be on drugs.
“His eyes were red; I was wondering what was wrong with him. He was saying things without evidence....spewing invectives all over. He was behaving like a tramadol addict,” he said.
