The host of ‘Good Evening Ghana’ on Metro TV, Paul Adom Otchere has been taken to the cleaners as Builsa North lawmaker, Hon. James Agalga has sounded a word of caution to him to stay away from his hard won reputation.
The host of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, Paul Adom Otchere, has condemned the Minority in parliament for their highest level of disdain in welcoming Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, with placards inscribed ‘Bloody Widow’.
Paul Adom Otchere was of the view that walking out of parliament in registering a protest is something that is acceptable as ‘normal’ parliamentary practice, but to put out a poster to call a colleague MP ‘bloody widow’ is uncalled for.
“The honourable James Agalga should be ashamed of himself,” he stated on his ‘Good Evening Ghana’ show on Metro TV.
But reacting to the comment on Radio Gold’s ’Alhaji and Alhaji’ political talk show, Hon. Agalga replied “Let me use this medium to remind my good friend Paul Adom Otchere that I am not ashamed of myself. In fact, if there is anybody who should be ashamed of himself, it is the NPP government, it is President Akufo-Addo. It is Bryan Acheampong and the entire national security set up who should bow down their heads in shame for unleashing brutality on the innocent Ghanaians who poured out on 31st January to cast their votes. They are the ones who should apologise to the good people of Ghana.”
He entreated Paul Adom Otchere to take time to study parliamentary practice and procedure to know that their behaviour to Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan is part of their tools that they can deploy at anytime they think things have not gone right.
“After all, brandishing placards is normal parliamentary practice and so if Paul Adom Otchere is not aware, I will entreat him to take time of his busy schedule and study parliamentary practice and procedure and when he has done that he would come to the realisation that what we did on that occasion is part of our tools that can be deployed at anytime to register our decent whenever we think things have not gone right,” he chided.
He insisted that Parliamentary history is replete with instances when members felt agitated and brandish placards to drum home messages; warning that “let Paul Adom Otchere seize that opportunity to denigrate my hard won reputation and image. I will like to send those words of caution to my good friend Paul Adom Otchere.”
He however wondered why people are quick to single the Minority in Parliament out and attack them for brandishing the ‘bloody widow’ placard of the newly sworn-in MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, without first condemning the brutality meted out to innocent Ghanaians in the constituency.
He justified the action of the Minority in Parliament by saying the Hon. Lydia Alhassan was the beneficiary of the brutality that was meted out to the innocent Ghanaians who came out to vote; hence their inscription “bloody widow”.

The hypocrisy of the like of Paul Adom Ochere is very glaring but they will always find themselves on clay feet. An attempt to make Hon. James Agalga look evil will not fly. Paul should rather bow his head in shame as a journalist who fear to report the truth and seek to do the bidding of pay masters of his.
WHO AT ALL IS PAUL ADOM OTCHERE. USING METRO TV FOR HIS POLITICAL AMBITION. YOU PAUL RATHER BE ASHAMED FOR THE COMMENT YOU PASSED ON THE MP.YOU DONT CARE ABOUT THOSE WHO WERE SHOT AND WOUNDED.WHEN NPP DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO PUSH THE WOMAN INTO PARLIAMENT. A WIDOW WHO SHOULD BE MOURNING WAS CAMPAIGNING FOR POWER.THE BLOOD OF THOSE POURED ARE STAINS ON HER. PAUL STOP THAT PREMATURE POLITICS. YOU ARE TOO BIAS.
WHY ALL THIS NTAFOU/PEPEFOU IDI.OT IN PARLIAMENT.NO AKAN OR VOLTARIAN WILL VOTE FOR THIS MAMMAL
Not even a single person who got injured is a voter in that constituency so NDC Should stop lying twisting facts to make it look like people were going to vote and they were fired at. If that were the case how come only NDC vigilante group members got injured? It is for this same reason that they are refusing to go to the commission. If they should go the truth will surely be found and NDC will be exposed. They planned to unleash violence as per the testimony of JM but the whole thing backfired when they were taken by surprise.
These politicians think that by virtue of being an MP, they are always right, if even the entire country see their actions as unpleasant. They are just now irritants
And Agalga sees himself as a man befitting of the title "Honourable". More or less dishonourable I will say. Hard won reputation indeed. Really? The current crop of NDC parliamentarians are so def1cient in thoughts, action and common $sense that their mere presence reduces the stock of what an important arm of governance should be. I am equally ashamed of James Agalga.
A Boss died in a doubtful and painful circumstances. There is a great and spontenous outcry. Suspicions acusations and fingers point to assistance who succeeds him. Some primitive home boys see nothing wrong with that. No name is given to this assistant which others were capable to name or call or tagged. Civility and peace the silent majority. Why call a colleague bloody?? Parliament is cheap,Occupied by latter day elites (so called)
You are a ***barred word***ïsh mammal...you will die like how jezebel died ...
If there's any action that you need or is required to constantly defend or explain against public sentiments, then it calls into question the validity or sensibility of the action in the first place. Regardless of its acceptance in a controlled chamber like parliament, the majority of the people("the represented") find your actions in bad taste, you must have introspection and call your the sensibilities of your actions to order. Its only human.
NO WONDER, WHEN YOU HAVE 1D10TS,SENSE1ESS AND ARROGANCE ELEMENTS AS MPs, THESE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS ONE SHOULD EXPECT.IN THEIR CONSTITUENCIES, COCKROACHES,DOGS AND CATS CAN EVEN WIN ELECTIONS THE MOMENT THEY ARE ELECTED AS THEIR PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES.
