Former Deputy Minister for Communications in the erstwhile Mahama Administration, Felix Ofosu Kwakye and the Campaign Spokesperson of John Mahama 2020, James Agyenim Boateng, have challenged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to ‘arrest’ the cedi from its fast-depreciating state.
According to the duo, it is time for the Vice-President to prove his worth with regards to stabilizing the local currency against major trading foreign currencies, especially the US dollar.
He took a swipe at Dr. Bawumia over his earlier claim that he had arrested the cedi and handed the keys to the IGP.
In a picture circulating on social media, Felix Ofosu Kwakye can be seen trading in foreign currency with Mr. Agyenim Boateng, exchanging $1 for GH500.00. An obvious dig at the Vice-President, who is the Head of the Economic Management Team.
But it appears they have come unstuck in their attempt at parody.
Many of their followers on social media, have launched a blistering attack on the two former government appointees, questioning their decision to portray $1 as eqivalent to GH500 instead of $100 to GH500; even if their act was deliberate.

Are these the same people who want to come back to do more harm? Common 5Ghs you could not get your empty heads around it let alone a population of 30 million. Ah, agya ab3twa ny3! INCOMPETENCE paaa nie ?
Ah so these babies are still fronting for NDC?. So strange indeed. They don't learn at all. How miserable they were humiliated during the elections. hmmmmmmmm. If they still want the gap to open wide then they can continue to allow these small boys to ***barred word***-l-l about.
hehehehehehehehe... Still incompetent in opposition
Indeed they did not think true carefully before posting the photograph. As former ministers and people who can be members of a future government, they should be conversant with due diligence. However truth be said that Dr Bawumia made a lot of promises and speeches which should now be redeemed. In particular the inflationary rate of our currency. He cannot give masterful speeches and at the time for performance, he buckles. He had so many ideas in opposition but in government I can see a clear inability to perform. Yes free education is good but was it thought through well? It has brought inflationary pressure unto the money because the government now needs to adjust the indices to be able to keep the program afloat. The economy is still leaking like a basket so how can the cedi be stabilised? As a country, we normally look only at the inflation rate perhaps because it is the main measure that is closer to us but we also have to look at our debt stock. It is unusually high which should be a source of concern. As a nation, we will have to hold our leaders to abide by some standards. We are too partisan to the extent that we are ready give excuses for them so they know they can take us for a ride and nothing will happen. That is why we are poor and always go begging.
Why are u worried, Vice told them already they don't want to read and learn... Every where they go their incompetent shows. Any way they forget that people of Ghana are wise and descending.. NO MORE 4 1 9. 2020 U WILL CRY MAMAMA
Gyimiiii Peacefm, how did you know that the Cedis amount to GHS500? The same way your lady newspaper reviewers feel reluctant to review newspapers from the NDC stable. Rise above partisanship because all days are not the same.
Nana has not bribed anybody, may be your drunkard father who takes bribe and your Magajia(chief ***barred word***) mother who has been catch by age has taken bribe. Daawa konko, amuasie come again
They need their heads checked.
They and unintelligent and lack mathematics acumen hence their inability to calculate well and also unable to collate the 2016 results for NDC.Shameful Ms Agyenim Boateng and Felix Ofosu Kwakye ---stuuuuupid fooools.
We have n.k.w.a.s.i.a.f.o.o as political leaders in Ghana paaa oooo. Example, Ofosu Kwakye and Agyenim Boateng
