Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked the party to work hard and win the 2020 elections to honour their fallen former National Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.
Eulogizing the former Chairman when he visited his home, he said Dr. Kwabena Adjei has done a lot for the party especially when during his tenure as Chairman he led the party to victory in the 2008 General Elections.
"So it will only be proper for us as a party to work hard to secure victory for the party come 2020," he said.
He also added that the party will stand with the family to give Dr kwabena Adjei a befitting burial.
Former National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei died Tuesday morning at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, formerly Ridge hospital.
The politician, who was the Chairman when the NDC won power in 2008, had been battling with a protracted sickness first reported in the media in August 2015.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared three days of mourning in honour of its former National Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.
Dr. Adjei died at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital after a short illness in the early hours of Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
The party in a statement stated that: “during this period all party flags should fly at half-mast and all party activities suspended.”
In view of this development, the Induction ceremony of the Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, which was scheduled to be held on Wednesday March 13, 2019 has been postponed indefinitely.
Dr. Adjei until his passing was a member of the Council of Elders of the party, a former Member of Parliament for Biakoye Constituency, a former PNDC Deputy Secretary for Volta Region and Former PNDC Deputy Secretary for Industries, Science & Technology.

Always taking advantage of people's death for political gains. What has the death of a man got to do with winning political power?
Mahama, you will never ne President again. Stop dreaming
AS CULTURE DEMANDS AS AN EX PRESIDENT YOU SHOULD BE IN BLACK BUT NOT IN THAT OUTFIT.YOU SEE ALL THOSE AROUND YOU WERE IN BLACK .WHY NOT WIN THE 2020 ELECTIONS TO HONOUR PAA AMISAH ARTHUR BUT KWABENA ADJEI? GREEDY MAN.
You want to win an election in honour of Dr. Kwabena Adjei and not to govern the country eh. No problem. Even with that mind set, I tell you, you will never win any election in Ghana again. So "FORGET" it.
What happened??? Then later said he couldn’t see the winner.just tickle yourselves
***barred word*** of the highest order .win the election to honor someone hut not to better the lives of Ghanaians
Ohh poor Kwabena Adjei, Mahama and his cohorts in the NDC neglected you and now he is taking advantage of your death to gather support for his parroquial agenda. God is not asleep. He will be shamed more than before.
There goes the INCOMPETENT one again. He always seeks to benefit from the death of persons he cared less about,.... Just to satisfy his greedy desires. Why not to honor the death of Amissah Arthur but Kwabena Adjei? Atta Mills died and Mahama benefited so he is looking for another cheap opportunity. FIRE BURN HIM!
John Mahama, don't you have another life to live? Must everything in your life be about you winning election 2020. I wonder what you would have done if you had never been President before. You effortlessly became a President, so why the desperation now, very ungrateful
DID MAHAMA KNEW DR EVEN EXISTED ,GREEDY, EVIL AND SELFISH SOUL.BEVER AGAIN.
