Mr Kwame Agbodza, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adaklu has stated his resolve to banish ignorance in Adaklu through ‘superior knowledge’.

He said it was only through ‘superior knowledge’ that the District could develop rapidly, hence, his continued investment in education.

Mr Agbodza said this at the commissioning of a three unit classroom block with an office and a store, a six-seater water closet toilet and two urinals for the Adaklu Kodzobi District Assembly Basic School.

The three unit classroom block is for the kindergarten, which was also given 98 chairs and 23 tables with 34 desks going to the primary school.

The project was funded by Pencils of Promise (PoP), an education-based non-governmental organization (NGO) with support from the MP who provided sand and chippings with the community providing communal labour.

Mr. Agbodza noted that the most important investment any parent could make in his or her ward was education and encouraged them to support their wards in that direction.

He expressed joy that Adaklu was gradually regaining its glory in education but said more needed to be done to remain at the top.
The MP was hopeful that the institution of a District Best Teachers' Award would yield positive results and urged parents to encourage their children to learn.

Mr Agbodza said he was working with the Road Ministry to fix some roads including the Vodze-Dzakpo-Helekpe and Waya town roads, all awarded on contract.

Mr Anthony Quashigah, Project Manager, PoP said the Kodzobi project was the 158 educational infrastructure intervention by PoP in the Volta, Eastern and Oti regions and commended the community for completing the project on schedule.

Mr Samuel Bruku, an official at the Adaklu District Directorate of Education praised PoP for the support and said the interventions were changing the face of education in the District.
