JOHN AMEKAH, first national vice chairman of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), has lauded the Akufo-Addo government for working to end vigilantism to ensure sanity during elections.
Mr. Amekah, who disclosed this in an interview with DAILY GUIDE on Tuesday in Accra, observed that individuals who invade the Electoral Commission in their numbers during the compilation of election results should be punished because their action contravenes the law.
According to him, that should be factored into the soon-to-be-passed vigilantism bill.
Commenting on the 1D1F initiative, he encouraged the government to pay key attention to the already existing factories to enable the country move in the right direction.
He also said building the railway line to Paga in the Upper East Region would bring development in the cities and improve the economy of the country.
Commending President Akufo-Addo for putting up initiatives to revive the agricultural sector, he appealed to the government to form a coalition of national best farmer award winners to make the policies sustainable.
On the issue of Free SHS, he stated: “The free education policy implementation is a laudable initiative and would help a lot of parents and children, because vulnerable parents who were not able to send their wards to school can now have access to educate their children”.
He urged Ghanaians to vote wisely to retain President Akufo-Addo in that no government could serve them with milk and gold better than the current President.

@Ray, It is said that witches and wizards will never be content even if you cut off your head for them. I dont want to believe you are one of them. These problems that you enumerated didn't when Free SHS was introduced. They were there. I expected you to encourage the government to fight that problem but not to rubbish the policy. Open your eye and dont allow yourself to be blinded by someone's penchant for power. You may not be better off, unless may be, you join the Loot and Share Brigade.
Ndc hate the free SHS to their bones but they can't do nothing about it because it has come to stay! ndc bring your manifesto and your visions and stop the eny3 yie spirit because it will never help you! make your party attractive with positive thinking and leave the NPP alone for whatever you do Ghanaians prefer them more than you! in any case, it is better to be bitten by mosquitoes and get education and knowledge than selling dog chains on the streets for the ndc to rule Ghana.Ndc shame in you! YAAMUTU!
Ray if in the time past people were able to get an initiative like free SHS like we will get to a better place. If there issues that need to be addressed bring that out and stop down playing the policy.
What is free? When they children sleep in mosquito and bed bug infested dormitories? When they fall sick, NHIA Cards not working so one has to doll out cash to purchase prescribed medicines. I don't see it as free. It's for political votes. I always say, check with the Ministers and government appointees, how many of their children attend the free SHS they are making noise about. If it's really beneficial academically, why are their children not attending? It's only time which will tell if we are being given something substantial.
Well said. Thank you for speaking the truth coupled with good counsel. This is the type of politicians Ghana needs. Not the ones that lie and criticize without offering any alternatives.
