The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyemfi has denied reports that he has made efforts for an out of court settlement relative to a suit aginst him by the Central Regional First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party and Director of Operations for the Anti-galamsey Taskforce, Mr Ekow Horace Ewusi.
He says he is prepared for a face-off with the Central Regional 1st Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Ekow Ewusi in court.
The First Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Central Region, Mr. Horace Ekow Ewusi, has sued the National communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi at the High Court of Justice, General Jurisdiction Accra, Greater Region for defamation.
The NPP stalwart confirmed the report in an interview with Peace FM News on Friday.
According to him, Sammy Gyamfi has ruined his (Ewusi's) high earned reputation calling him names and accusing him of conspiring with foreigners to undertake illegal mining in the country as a member of the Galamsey team.
He further added that the NDC activist has been making efforts to settle the issue out of court.
However, speaking on Okay fm's Ade Akye Abia Programme, Mr. Gyamfi explained that he will cause his legal team to enter an appearance on his behalf next week and file his defense accordingly.
“The public interest is at stake in this issue and as a matter of fact, it is very important we all go to court for the truth to prevail at the end of the day....i hope he has the balls to pursue and sustain the suit and not chicken out,” he said.
In a rejoinder copied to Peacefmonline.com about a story published by same on 24th May, 2019, with a caption “Ekow Ewusi Sues NDC's Sammy Gyamfi for Defamation” which sought to describe that Mr. Sammy Gyamfi has made effort to seek for an out of Court settlement, he described the statement as false adding that he is ever ready to face the NPP Chairman in Court and that he has never begged any high profile person within his party to persuade the NPP man for out of court settlement.
Read REJOINDER below;
For your information, I haven’t made any effort for an out of court settlement relative to Ekow Awusi's suit against me. I fully stand by my words and will enter appearance next week and file my defense accordingly. I sincerely pray that he gets the balls to pursue and sustain the suit and not chicken out like most of them do. Let’s hope that this is not a P.R stunt.

NDC is loosing steadily with these bunch of arrogant executives. I have non partizan friends who got irritated anytime this guy is on media program. The shouting, unsubstantiated allegations and retractions put people off.
I don't like Sammy Gyamfi but that Horace Ewusi guy is a cr0ok and a big time crimin@l. I know him from childhood in Cape Coast when he sold of his deceased father's timber mill machines and made off to the UK and later got deported.
What sort of spokesperson is this sammy gyamfi. always fighting no decorum, and this person is my leader. haaaaaaaaaaaaaa. i am going to join another party
NDC is a harbinger of rasscalss and dishonesssttt foollsss like Sammy Gyamfi and Kwaku Boahen
Sammy Gyamfi of the NDC has a lot to learn from Sammy Awuku of the NPP. The insolence and the insults are empty headed approach to political propagandism void of issue-based facts. The Problem is the NDC's incompetence and inability to communicate to Ghanaians her programs and policies to help Ghana come out of the numerous economic problems. You see the message of the NPP is 'Ghana beyond aid'. And in this message are policies in place to change the status quo of the Guggisberg economic structures as inherited from our Colonial past. We see the massive infrastructural interventions in the Railway sector,1D1F programs are picking up and many others in the pipe line, to borrow the phrase from the NDC. Now, upon all these what do we hear from the oppposition to present a better alternative? Aside the NDC playing it down with false allegations in terms of wishful thinking and malice aforethinking. Clearly, under this circumstance there is noway NDC can win election against NPP. Therefore, all those false allegations against the EC Boss are blantan creations of the NDC out of frustration and incompetence. There is, indeed, a deficient bottom-line political strategy and message from the NDC to combat the robust NPP political expediency. NDC should not blame it on the EC as a scape goat.
NPP and their supporters, who is more arrogant than the current president in Ghana? but when we talk you people will say he is confident. The same way Sammy Gyamfi is confident and too hot for NPP. We the members of NDC like him. He has dared you to face him in court and you say what? he is arrogant? simple face him in court.
The person sued you yet you running your mouth “if you have balls”. Go and defend yourself or go quietly to apologize and retract what you said about him. Braggart!
The scale of hypocrisy and dishonesty among Ghanaian politicians is simply irritating and repugnant. The lie, accuse and insult each other and in public, yet go behind the scenes to settle issues quietly. If we're a serious nation, this 1diot Sammy Gyamfi and his likes would have been silenced long ago. But they do such things and get away with it because it appears to be a game they play. I won't be surprised if this threat of suit won't get anywhere because together with their dishonest friends in the media, they'll settle it as usual. OUR POLITICIANS ARE JUST DISHONEST!
I do not like this boy at all,I hate him!!!!!
I doubt if this arrogant wrifwrath called Sammy Gyemfi will last longer in Ghana politics with this kind of attitude, he will definitely vanish like a morning dew , he better consult Solomon Nkansah, and the likes
