The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, on monday toured some centers of the ongoing limited registration exercise, to monitor the exercise being undertaken by the Electoral Commission.
The exercise is meant to register Ghanaians who had just turned 18 years and also those who have not registered for varied reasons, all in preparation towards the 2020 general elections.
The Regional Chairman's visit took him to Effiduase, Juaben, Ejisu, Bosome-Freho and Bosomtwe district registration centers.
The rest were those districts in the Kumasi Metropolis - but, for the challenge of network which cut across all the areas visited, all seemed well on day one.
Chairman Wontumi after being satisfied with the process praised the EC and the state security for ensuring smooth and cordial environment.
However, the regional Chairman was quick to caution them against complacency especially as the days wears on.
Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako again repeated the party's stance against vigilantism, urging the police to deal with any party or individual who will visit the centers with machomen.
To him, these irresponsible practices are criminal and therefore, anyone found to be leading it must be arrested and prosecuted irrespective of party or individuals involved.
He said, his party will continue to monitor the exercise and ensure only those qualified are registered to vote come next year.
