Former Ghana's High Commissioner to India, H. E. Sam P. Yalley, has urged the ruling government to present Neoplan Ghana Limited to the Founder and manufacturer of Kantanka Automobile Company, Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
" . . Left to me alone, let’s give Neoplan Ghana Limited together with its facilities to Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka because he is a Ghanaian who has shown the potentials that with support from the state he will make Ghana proud by solving our transportation problems in terms of manufacturing automobile products,” he said.
In an interview on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ political discussion segment, the NDC communicator grieved he will be very much surprised to see foreign automobile companies fully establish themselves in Ghana as the state owned one is left to diminish, when Ghana was the first African country to produce a car.
“It will be a shame for this country to encourage foreign auto-mobile companies to come and setup their companies here in Ghana while we sit aloof to collapse that same company belonging to the country, which will as well be a source of employment and foreign exchange to the country,” he added.
Suggesting his view on what should be done to revamp Neoplan Ghana Limited, Sam P. Yalley said; “My recommendation is that the government of the day should re-package Neoplan for Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka to manage as standards and insurance policies are outlined for him to comply than sit unconcerned for it to phase off”.

Quame, do you know who 'nkwasi afuo' are? What is the ***barred word*** in the suggestion in Mr Sam Pee Yalley's suggestion? He was offering his humble opinion on the Neoplan Ghana Ltd problem which I think is in the right direction. Please let us be balanced-minded and stop the extreme political stance.
Oh my God! These are our leaders. This person is waiting in opposition to win power n to be given position to rule us. That's his level of thinking??? Am very sad. I think there's no hope in Ghana 🇬🇭. Now some few facts about Neoplan issues. The management says that in around 2015, they paid money to the DIC to buy more shares of the company to become the majority share holders so they could decide the fate of the company. They further say they paid about $170,000.00 to the DIC in 2015 but the shares have not been transferred into their name, the money too haven't been given to them n so they took that matter to court awaiting judgment. The government is the majority share holder of this company but since 2012, the same government find it prudent to buy buses from china, India etc in stead of building the buses here at home as it used to be, meanwhile these buses too do not last long as compared to Neoplan's home build buses. If this is how we want to live as people, am sorry for my next generations. Hhhmmm
nkwasi afuo, when you were in Government did you know Apostle Kwadwo Safo?
