The Deputy Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Maame Yaa Aboagye has described the attitude of the opposition NDC towards the compilation of the New Voter Register as “enemies of the land”.
According to her, the efforts and agenda of the opposition to stop the compilation of the New Voter Register has come to a halt as EC has reaffirmed continuation of the process.
In a statement issued and signed by the EC stated that the compilation of the New Voter’s Register has not and will not be canceled even though a new date will be announced by the commission due to President Akufo Addo’s ban of public gathering due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The Electoral Commission further hinted that plans are far advanced to deliver on that mandate than to reconsider the decision.
Maame Yaa Aboagye again wondered why the cancellation of the New Voter Register has become the main priority of the opposition NDC as if their whole political lives depend on it.
She revealed how NDC played politics with the COVID-19 in its embryonic stage.
“In their wildest dream, they assumed that Coronavirus would be a toll that would mark an end to the EC’s compilation of the new Voter’s register".
“I am glad the visionary leader of the EC, Madam Jean Mensah has proven them wrong by not heeding the pressure mounted them by the opposition NDC to cancelled the new voter register exercise…”
“If the NDC were thinking about going into the next elections with this same bloated register, they better snap out of this wishful thinking because a new register is a must and will be compiled for elections 2020, she stressed.

@ Jack you said it all. You will live long. Let her and the entire family go and register.
Think about how the government i going to get money to fight the virus. Stop this child lie thinking
If you look at her, I am sure without politics she wouldn't have any life to live. In times like this any level headed person will think about how this virus will not spread, but for people to still thinking about this npp/ndc non sense baffles me. Listen to the news about Italy people are dying by heart. Your own foreign minister is reporting 3 Ghanaians have died of this virus. Yet you are here arguing about new voters register. I am glad you are in npp. I am sure some of those who travel to norway have been sleeping with you. Very soon you test positive and see your smoothness level.
No, no, no!!! You see how your obsession with the NDC blinds you??!! GOD is thwarting your plans on all fronts, yet you don’t see it!! It will dawn on you when power is taken from you in disgrace!! Wax on sister!
I wish you will bring ur children to also join the queue for this new voter register. U think the world will be existing forever for you people to continue oppressing us. God will surely come.
I belong to the NPP but I am beginning to side with ken agyepong and kusi boafu that we are full of fuuuulls and also there is no direction in our party. All over the world, what leaders are thinking about now is how conoravirus pandemic will go away for normal life to return. Here we are, thinking about elections and new voters registration. We are in March, the election is in December. At the moment the number of people with the virus in Ghana is not even know. If you ahead with this new register and people queue to register and infect each other with the virus, most of them will not even be alive to vote. Why are we so ediots. This sickness doesn't know NDC or NPP, all it does it to kill. I am going support this ***barred word*** stance simply because I am NPP. LIFE first before votes. We have old register, you can use it if by December this disease is over, by that time we might have contained the situation rather than exacerbating with people infecting each other in queues.
