Kwamena Duncan has likened the character of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to that of Jesus Christ, the leader of Christians in the world.
In a meeting with New Patriotic Party faithful during his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, the Vice President emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and respectful campaign as the party's presidential race intensifies.
He stressed unity is key for the party to win the 2024 elections, reminding the party of their "main enemy" which is the National Democratic Congress.
"I have instructed all my supporters and spokespersons that we must conduct a clean campaign, avoiding any form of insults. We are one family, and we must remain united. Once the contest concludes, we will come together as a cohesive force to ensure the NDC does not return to power," he said.
The former Central Regional Minister, addressing Dr. Bawumia's admonition to his aides and Spokespersons not to respond to attacks on his personality, hailed him saying he exhibits what he termed "Jesus-like" attitude.
"That is the nature. That is the character of the man we are following and supporting. He is a good man," he stressed during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show Wednesday morning.
Kwamena Duncan believed Dr. Bawumia is the leader Ghana needs, asserting his character is sublime.
"What a character? What is it? What more do you want to see in a leader?...What else do you want to see in a leader?", he asked.

Please don't give the impression that Bawumia is a favoured candidate for no reason. As vice-president, he has done a credible job. Therefore, in terms of merit, he has a lot to show for himself in the Akuifo-Addo administration. So anyone who doesn't believe that the massive support he enjoys across the country is not just a gift from heaven, but an innovative ability to use technology to leapfrog our deficit in infrastructure development, must be living in an alternate universe. I'm very confident that any unfounded conspiracy to oust or frustrate his chances of winning the flagbearership race will fall flat. A true patriot who aspires to the principles of democracy will allow it to take its course irrespective of any conspiracy.
@ Azar . In literature we have what we call " Simile " i.e. using the words 'as ' and 'like ' to describe something. If someone says " you run like a horse " doesn't mean you are a horse . If someone says your "house looks like the jubilee house" doesn't mean your house is the jubilee house. If someone says " you look like Jesus " doesn't mean you are Jesus. Now to the substantive issue. In 2008, 2012 and 2016 what we heard of Bawumia was hosanna, hosanna, hosanna. Today it is let's crucify him , crucify him, crucify him. Not surprising though. When Messi is in the field, all eyes are on him , players from the other team and funs alike. You don't see players from the other team rushing on Messi when he's walking or running in the field without a ball. They only rush to tackle him when the ball is with him. The attacks on Bawumia are to be expected because he's with the ball. If he's with the ball and there are no tackles, it means he has lost the ball. Bawumia is October born which is the beginning of the HARMATTAN in northern Ghana so he has learned to go through all the dust that comes with the HARMATTAN. Insha Allah, the dust will soon settle.
Arrogant at the highest level, how can you pair Bawumia to Jesus Christ; very disheartening and bad comment from you. Can you do that in Islam pairing Bawumia with Mohammed ***barred word*** politicians
