Flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has withdrawn from the party’s presidential race.
He announced his decision in a press statement issued on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Alan Cash according to the statement, said "it is absolutely clear to me from events leading to, during and after the elections, that the Special Delegates Conference was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular Aspirant".
"The pronouncements made by some leading Members of our Party both before and after the elections, also lend weight to my observations. The level of intimidation of varying intensity, directly and indirectly unleashed on a significant number of Delegates at various Voting Centers across the sixteen regions, is unprecedented in the history of our Party. In addition, the fact that my Polling Agent in the North East region has suffered severe damage to his eye sight, arising from his bold and courageous effort to ensure compliance with the very rules and regulations for the conduct of the elections as approved by the Presidential Elections Committee, will forever remain a dark spot in the history of internal elections within the Party. This incident and various acts of violence and collusion, reported in other Voting Centers, are appalling, unconscionable, and despicable.
"In light of the foregoing, I wish to confirm that I am honourably withdrawing from the process that will lead to the Presidential Primaries to be held on the 4th of November 2023," he added.

PRESS STATEMENT BY HON. ALAN KYEREMATEN
On Sunday, the 27th of August 2023, I issued a public statement which made reference to the selection and shortlisting of Presidential Aspirants by the Special Electoral College convened by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the 26th of August 2023.
After having carefully analysed the results of the said elections, it is absolutely clear to me from events leading to, during and after the elections, that the Special Delegates Conference was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular Aspirant.
The pronouncements made by some leading Members of our Party both before and after the elections, also lend weight to my observations.
I am committed to, and value the safety of those who work with me and for me, and I will always fight for their interest.
The question I keep asking myself is, “How did we get here as a Party in the first place, and how far are we prepared to tread on this dangerous path to self-destruction?”
Regrettably, I am not convinced that the circumstances I have referred to earlier, will not persist or even be escalated in the next round of elections, for which balloting is scheduled for Wednesday, 6th of September 2023.
In light of the foregoing, I wish to confirm that I am honourably withdrawing from the process that will lead to the Presidential Primaries to be held on the 4th of November 2023. In the next upcoming weeks, I will provide an indication of the role that I will play in politics in Ghana, after consultations with my family and other well- wishers, various stakeholders and interest groups.
I wish all the other Aspirants well as they continue on their journey. I also wish to use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude once again to my family, the Alan 4 President (A4P) Campaign Team, and all my teeming supporters in Ghana and from around the world, who have supported me in diverse ways over the years. Please be assured that the battle is still the Lord’s, and that those who wait upon the Lord shall have their strength renewed.
God bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong!
…… Signed………
HON. ALAN KYEREMATEN

May he is considering vice president if Dr. WINS. Good decision.
This was something that was obviously going to happen. Alan saved himself from spending on a lost cause.
Alan has done it again, first he resigned then returned now he’s pulled out. What can of man that wants to lead in this life expects life to be a smooth path. Valid concerns raised but Alan has proven that he’s not a man to lead. A man that’s easily gives up is not fit to Lead.
He took the right decision, the 4th November results will humiliate him. Defeat staring at him, it was obvious he cannot beat Bawumia. The most marketed person in the NPP at the moment is Bawumia, Alan doesn't stand a chance. This is the time to join forces with Bawumia and become a vice-prez and use the occasion to market himself more for the near future.
CAMSCANNER FOR PRESIDENTIAL PRESS RELEASE??? SERIOUSLY??? What kind of preparation is that ??? to make final exit with Cam scanner for a presidential election despite all monies distributed??You assembled people who were only bitter within the party, and you expected to win? I am sorry to say that your political career is over within the party.
Alan is a bad loser. This behaviour of his shows he has no deep roots in the NPP as BJ Da Rocha put out in 2008. You assembled people who were only bitter within the party and you expected to win? I am sorry to say that your political career is over within the party.
This is not good news. I urge the council of elders of the party to reach out to the other contestants after the November 4 th elections. The 2024 elections is not going be easy for the NPP considering the current state of affairs in the country. Allan and Kennedy Agyapong, the other contenders have had cause to complain that the playing field is not level. Nobody should take them for granted. You need to have some skills to be able to build a house, however when it comes to pulling a house down there is no formula. The unguided utterances of some people close to the Vice President is not helping matters. He should talk to them to make utterances that seeks to bring everyone on board. The last time one Gedeon Boako in the office of the Vice President, said anyone who is not satisfied with the performance of the NPP government can Leave the party. Only recently he again said Akuffo Addo is solidly behind Bawumia to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections when Akuffo Addo has not personally made any statement to that effect. It's like the seat of government is too loose thus these unguided utterances we are hearing of late. How many of Gedeon Boako's biological children are 18 years and above such that he can get them to replace those he said can leave the party? Bawumia should remember that it is his photograph that will be on the presidential ballot paper in 2024 should he win the party's primaries. Not all those close to him want his success so he should take control of his campaign now other than that he will get to know the real intentions of some of those close to him when it's too late. If you actually want Bawumia to succeed you will not be making statements against his own party members. Bawumia should and must have at the back of his mind that once his photograph appears on the ballot paper in 2024, he needs all NPP supporters to vote for him, NPP supporters don't need him because personally they are not contesting for anything. He shouldn't allow some greedy, ethnocentric boot licker ministers, MMDCEs , hangers on and staffers to "put sand in his gari". Some of them are 100% opportunist.
It is very clear that the expressions here are intended to decry the reasons alluded to withdraw from the race. Everyone in politics should be concern if these happenings are not addressed especially within same political party internal elections. The concern now is how his (Alan's) U-turn from the internal presidential race will impact the overall general election should Vice Bawumia or any other aspirant be the choice, given the fact that his (Alan's) followers are likely to toe his (Alan's) line of decision not to participate in and further party activities. Don't forget Alan is not the only candidate complaining about these attacks on their agents.
Chief Alan, your reasons for withdrawing from the race are propagandist to say the least. You are running away from further damaging embarrassment. Blame your team for your predicament. Most of their utterances were appalling and you did nothing about it. I wish you well
Masa there is no election without small scamishies. Any way that is the only option for him because he would've been humiliated in the 4th November election
