Sylvester Tetteh, the Member of Parliament of Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro constituency, has crossed over from the Alan Kyerematen camp to join the camp of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia into the New Patriotic Party (NPP) November 4 presidential election.
Hon. Sylvester Tetteh was a staunch leader of the Alan campaign team and pledged unflinching allegiance to his cause to become the flagbearer of the party.
However, Alan Kyerematen surprisingly pulled out of the contest announcing he will no longer be in the race for reasons of intimidation against his polling agents and favoritism by the party leadership.
As the NPP awaits the D-day of its presidential primary, Hon. Sylvester Tetteh says he supports Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the party into the 2024 general elections.
According to him, his conviction to join the Bawumia campaign train is because of Alan's withdrawal and the fact that he is an NPP stalwart, so he still needs to support a candidate to lead the party.
Hence, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who, to him, is the best person among the candidates competing in the race on November 4.
"Moving on, among the four candidates, I think Dr. Bawumia is our surest bet. That is why I'm rallying everybody that let's support him; the party is going to elections. So if Alan is no longer contesting, we don't go for elections? We have to go for elections. I have to make a choice. I have constituents; I have a vote," he asserted while revealing his decision on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' show.
