The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made it clear that the party will no longer accommodate or ‘accept as a member’ any individual running any form of campaign for Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten and his movement.
The party’s General Secretary was emphatic on NEAT FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie that those persons are “automatically barred” from the ‘Elephant’ party per their constitution.
“Any member who declares his/her support for another political party or an independent candidate automatically forfeits his/her membership,” Lawyer Justin Koduah read a portion of the NPP’s body of law to justify his comments.
Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten denounced NPP’s unfairness to him after the first round of the party’s flagbearership election and later departed from the party to form a ‘movement’ to contest the December 7 presidential election.
He, however, had many staunch NPP members joining his movement to ensure the success of his dream to become Ghana’s president
Those individuals' fate within the NPP has now been made clear, they no longer belong to the ‘Elephant’ party.

@Mr Brobey, common sense they say is not common and that is right. You need to use your brain to think logically. One cannot belong to 2 political parties unless the person is a corupt businessman.
But seriously, Alan came a woefully 3rd place in the super delegates; not even 2nd. He could not convince the small NPP youth subset with his magic transformation agenda but convinced he can convince the larger Ghanaian youth? Now I see those cheering politicians on and organizing for them see it as a job to earn income, not necessarily because they believe in the ability of the candidate to win. Otherwise who will support Allan as independent? He has some of what it takes to be president, no doubt but he lacks strength of character to take defeat. Behaves like the proverbial dadaba boy who brings his case 5 football to the field: you score him at the peril of the whole game cos he will take his ball and end the game. Allan has never won any election before. He cant take defeat. Ken says the elections were free and fare
Who pays to join a political party? You can join any political party in the country as far as democracy is concerned. Where was the general secretary when the party chairmen threw their support for the vice president? Where was the party constitution? You people think everyone in the party is a robot right? The party leadership failed woefully to crack the whip and is going to affect the party seriously. The party Npp doesn’t put food on my table as a member so I have every right to support anyone I think has a vision to develop the country. Ghana first not Npp first
hahahaha my broda brobey. did ken say he is joining alan for any show down. he rather said he will join bawumia and said the election was free and transparent too. what change is alan bringing. what structures are there in the movement for change, practicaly nothing. it is a tall order to impossibility. we have seen it before, lets see how the movement turns into a party or it remain movement forever, what a joke. but president too is by force or what. will the movement endorse voting as the founder or originator is afraid or has issues with it. a joke to be in a party and support a different candidate from another party, where is that done. not even in a concert party
Augustine, your comment is very funny. You and many others are joining to support Allan. Well said, then you do not even need the party Gen Sec remind you of your fate in the party? In any case, if you are joining Allan to win, then you should be happy about further cracks in the NPP which should give you an advantage, so whats your issue here? Feel free to support any candidate of your choice but rules apply
@Augustin Brobey. You are totally wrong. You are off-line. The NPP has a constitution and what the General Secretary said was rightly spelt out in the Constitution. The NPP is a democratic party, and its leaders are chosen democratically, with each interested party making him/herself available for election. No one in the party is ordained to inherit from the other. And each party person has the right to support the one he believes in. The "ADURU WO SO" syndrome works only when there is no challenger, otherwise it does not work, especially in a DEMOCRACY. You are only there to create problems for the party. IN FACT, NPP MEMBERS DO NOT LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES. THIS IS WHAT THEY DID AND MOST SEATS WERE LOST TO THE NDC. The party is not a cheap one. Discipline must prevail. AUGUSTINE BROBEY, GO AHEAD AND SEEK ALLIANCE WITH WHOEVER AND SEE WHO LOSES. THE CHILD WHO WOULD NOT LET HIS MOTHER SLEEP WILL ALSO NOT SLEEP.
Listin Mr Brobbey, the General Secretary is correct and you are wrong. Ghanaians must learn to tell people in their face the truth and the facts. How can one belong to two political parties? People have freedom to choose and if they support Alan's candidacy, that is fine but cannot belong NPP. You cannot eat your cake and have it again and this is common sense. Stop this corrupt behaviour and be straight with the facts.
Mr general secretary, why do you go on air and make such a imprudent statement concerning party members?? There is already a divisional hack within the elephant party and you have intended to add more petrol to the burning fire causing more harm than good. You have no right to threaten party members about their freedom and decisions to support Alan Kojo Kyeramaten. I just want to make it clear to you many party members will give thier full support to the independent candidate, and we are even working very closely to form alliance with our beloved Ken Agyapong. "Movement for Change" A party that will liberate ghana from its economic woes. Ghanaians are tired of the woes of the two parties: NPP and NDC. Ghana is heading for CHANGE and Alan and ken are the only option for Ghanaians.
