Some leading members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have devolved into the hubris of occultism, swearing a blood oath to the party ahead of this year’s elections.
The NDC’s top brass, led by former Director of Elections, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, swore that if they sell out the party for money in the upcoming elections, they will die with their firstborns.
In a viral social media video, the former Sports Minister is seen taking the blood oath with a sword in hand with others such as Daniel Amartey Mensah and Agbesi Nutsu, among others.
“If I compromise and sell my party out for money for this coming election, may I die and my firstborn also die in my place (sic),” Afriyie Ankrah and his cohorts swore.
Everyone in the video took turns swearing the blood oath in a shrine-like setting. A man, who appears to be a cult grand master, dressed in white and carrying a cross around his neck, swore them to the blood.
In the video, the man placed a piece of fabric on the bare floor, asked for oil, and ordered that the NDC gurus step on it without their shoes while swearing the oath with a sword, which is like the mythical Excalibur sword borne by King Arthur.
It is not clear what accounted for the blood oath and whether the occultism, black magic and blood oath form the template of the NDC’s election preparations.
Some social media users also wondered whether some NDC gurus had betrayed the party in the past by selling sensitive information to their opponents.
The NDC leadership is yet to issue an official response to allegations flying all over social media, despite curiosity by the public.

It is the diction for me........the oath will not work because past tenses are used in the stead of present. Both the oath recitor and follower are speaking BAD BAD ENGLISH! What a pary
NDC, EVIL ASSOCIATION! It is not a political party with any good intentions and programs for Ghana. Only to be in power to CREATE, LOOT & SHARE!
Ocultic party at work. They will do anything to win elections but are bad rulers. Remain in opposition forever.
I will not be surprised if the video turns out to be true since the Founder of the Party signed their Constitution with his pure human blood sometime back. Such is the foundation of the NDC party. However, what I am surprised about in the attached photograph is the man purported to be swearing the oath. I know Elvis comes from a devote Christian family with his brother being a key leader of one of the big churches in Ghana. Folks - let's not allow earthly pleasures and pecks dissuade us from our personal, family and Christian values. The implication of swearing an oath such as these could be disturbing and generational.
