Retired police officer, who was involved in the controversial leaked audio scandal where an alleged plot to oust the Inspector General of Police in a bid to rig the 2024 polls for the governing party made the headlines last year, COP Alex Mensah, has lost in the Bekwai constituency.
COP Alex Mensah pulled 245 votes as against Lawyer Ralph Opoku Adusei who pulled 662 to win the seat.
Voting has ended in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries in designated constituencies.

That he still managed to pull 245 votes is concerning. Someone who wanted to rig national elections now wants to be voted for to represent a constituency. Why did he not rig his way into parliament. Such elements should get no where near political power and one can only imagine the kind of police officer he was. Those 245 who voted for him need to ask themselves some questions; or they are deaf and dumb?
His loss is good for our current democratic dispensation. He would have set a bad example to our servicemen in the security architecture of our country. A big thank you to the Bekwai delegates!!!
