The Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) has disclosed plans to put mechanisms in place to start an online streaming platform for Ghana’s movie industry.
The move, according to the association, is to find alternative means to promote the movie industry aside from the sale of compact discs (CDs).
Speaking to Ray Charles Marfo on Adehye99.1FM’s Showbiz Arena, the Public Relations Officer for FIPAG, Nana Yaa Serwaa Osei, said: “In this era of the movie industry, selling CDs alone can’t project our movie industry. We have to get an online movie streaming platform to sell our movies there. Our aim is to start this implementation as soon as possible.
“We’ve planned to also partner the government to build more cinemas in all the 10 regions of Ghana to premiere movies. This will help build our movie industry.”
