News anchor and journalist Nana Aba Anamoah has revealed that she has never in her life made grade A in school. She said her best grade was a B, and she made this grade only once.
The eloquent newsreader posited that she thinks her intelligence quotient (IQ) is below average. For this reason, she said as a student, she failed many subjects in school especially Mathematics and Science.
“I think my IQ is below average - way below average and When I see people crying because they had failed certain courses, I say to them, ‘Are you mad?’ Do you know the courses, me as I’m standing here, I have failed?
I hate school and that’s a fact, I don’t like school. I like to go to school to listen to the teacher but the moment you say examination, oh God, I hate examinations.
Because for some reasons, in my life, I never made an ‘A’…oh even B, I think it was just once. I swear to God. B was just once,” she told University of Ghana students at an interaction section with practitioners who have excelled their career field during this year’s Career Week celebrations organized by the Careers and Counseling Centre.
The situation she said got her father worried and at a point, he ask her if she needed to see a counselor. “At some point my father asked me, do you have to see a counselor?” She said.
The Career Week 2017 themed, “Own Your Career; Don’t Dream It, Be It” was held from Tuesday, 28th February, 2017 to Saturday, 4th February, 2017. The 2017 Career Fair is to help students find out more about what is going on in the working world, to explore different fields and career paths and to develop network of contacts for future use.
The University of Ghana Careers and Counseling Centre was set up to provide students and staff of the university with the opportunity to receive support from trained professionals about their personal, educational and career goals. The main aim is to assist students in formulating and achieving personal, education and career goals.

It really shows. you are right. she is so narrow minded and full of ***barred word***. chopping down married men is what she has an A* or A+ in
oh yes, I can testify to that. she didn't graduate at GIMPA because she failed. Delay once asked her and she said she graduated which is a big LIE and absolutely FALSE. She was referred several times to write her exams several times. She used herself to get to the rank she is now. what happened today for her to come out with some of the truth? one can not lie forever, one day it will come out
Peacefm at it again, how cant they start at 28th feb and end on 4th february, i dont know if u are always in a hurry to be the first reporter or what, this is a very poor journalism skills cos what u post hear always makes it be like u dont have an editor at your office. Nana aba good piece and thanks for sharing it out to the public
Rev. Otabil never made good grades yet he is an accomplished man. Academically some may not be good but may do well in other areas. Discover your potential and work at it and you will breakthrough successfully.
God bless you dear
How can the programme be held from Tuesday, 28th February, 2017 to Saturday, 4th February, 2017. The one who wrote the story and the editor have the lowest IQ.
BWhile it is true that getting a first class is no sign of future carer success, no "middle mind" gets a first class in any serious university and in a country of limited job opportunities, it is better to have a first class or upper so as to widen your career options should you need to retrain with a postgraduate qualification to land a job. The fact that someone with poor grades seems successful is no reason for you to lazy about and get poor grades. You don't know what s/he did to get where s/he is!
Great sharing this because this is the story of most people, but due to societal stigma they can't share and yet suffer embarrassment in silence. I believe this will help lots of people especially students who believe they have to please parents and friends at all cost and are going to the extreme in process. I pray God help them all. Thanks Nana Aba. I'm proud of you.
Thanks for your honesty. Very refreshing. Bill Gates and Richard Branson plus many successful people were not A students
No wonder! It shows.....
