President Nana Akufo-Addo has released the full list of Deputy Ministers but popular Film Producer, Socrate Sarfo's name is conspicuously missing contrary to expectations that Socrate would be appointed as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts Ministry.
This has gotten some section of the entertainment industry and showbiz enthusiasts disappointed. Socrate Sarfo has being in the new since January, with a campaign to get him appointed as the deputy minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
However, President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Dr Ziblim Barri Iddi to the Tourism, Culture and Arts Ministry as Deputy Minister.
Dr. Iddi, a lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, was among a list of Deputy Ministerial nominees released on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. President Akufo-Addo nominated Catherine Ablema Afeku as the minister for Tourism and Creative Arts.
The race for who becomes her deputy became a matter of public debate, when the likes of Socrate Sarfo, Kojo Antwi, Mark Okraku Mantey, Juliet Asante and others were all mentioned as possible names to be considered for the position.
Movie producer Socrate Safo had mentioned that he will accept to serve as deputy minister in Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration if the offer was made to him.
Members of the Creative Arts for Change were rooting for him to be named as Deputy Min. for Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts.
According to him, they were championing for him to be deputy minister of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts because they wanted someone who understands their challenges.
People criticized Socrate sarfo, insisting he does not qualify for the position.
Socrate Sarfo declared support and campaigned for the New Patriotic Party and Mr. Akufo-Addo in the 2012 and 2016 polls and the portfolio is seen by many as a reward for his efforts towards the party’s success at winning back power.

Oh I pity my oldman evey ***barred word*** in ghana wants to be a minister of state.
This guy cannot even stand and speak against what is wrong on even a radio show as Peace FM Entertainment Review and you want the president to make him a minister? Big No!! People are watching and listening to whatever everyone is doing especially if you are in the Public Domain and the fact that we don't give any reaction to your conducts does not mean we've not taken noticed. One clear example is how they all supported the idea that the movie 'Sala' which was not even premiered at a time will win over 10 Nominations in that Fred Nuamah's Corrupt Ghana Movies Award. And we couldn't get anybody on the show to condemn this F0OOLISHNESS aside Akwasi Aboagy who was not on the same page. Aboagye George Quaiye made this Bribery Allegation against the Gospel Musicians on VGMAs. All that you guys could do was to push for Aboagye to apologise and resign or be sacked from his position when he was clearly insisting that he's got evidence. We were expecting to hear let's investigate and get to the bottom of the matter to cleanse the system. But ALL of you guys on the show including Socrate Sarfo were happy to sweep it under the carpet. How credible will such a person be at such a high office? Thank you Mr President for listening to us. Eyes are watching and wrong must be condemned. That's the only way we can go far as a nation.
let's all laugh at Socrates Safo. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
You have a senior journalist like Kwame Sefa Kayi working at your station and others who are constantly on the Kokrokoo morning show as panelists, yet you keep making basic writing mistakes. I can understand that as non-native speakers of the English language, we have challenges communicating our ideas clearly but at least you can make use of some of these senior journalists as proof readers before you post your writings online to avoid any embarrassment. Don't take your readers for granted, otherwise you have no business doing journalism.
