Veteran musician Kojo Antwi is advocating naming a street or road after the late Kojo Asare Baffuor Acheampong, popularly known as KABA.
The music maestro strongly believes that it is the best way the nation can preserve the legacy of the late presenter.
“We hope that we won’t forget him, we won’t forget what he has done for us,” he said adding, “we must have some symbolic thing somewhere for him for that legacy to live on,” he told myjoyonline.com.
While he thinks it will not be a bad idea to give him a state burial, he stressed “what happens after that is more important. The state burial will be just a one day event but if a street is named after him, it will be there forever."
KABA died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he was rushed after he fell sick early Saturday.
He was 37 years. He left behind his wife, Valentina Ofori Agyei, also a broadcaster with Accra-based Class FM and a seven-month-old daughter.
Until his death, KABA was the host of Asempa FM’s flagship afternoon political programme, ‘Ekosii Sen’.
Kojo Antwi was full of praise for KABA for being a professional and unbiased broadcaster. He noted that Ghana has lost a gem.
“I met him just once but I can say that I was an ardent listener to his programme…The way he presented his programme you could tell that he was a serious person who researched thoroughly."

Maybe Multimedia naming one of their studios after him . He excelled in his line of work but this is a suggestion that can't be dealt with.
Ghana people dey make unnecessary suggestions... So do we have an obligation to honor any popular personality? How about the many teachers who have saved the futures of many children? How about the many doctors who have ensured many people get to live and did so with enthusiasm? How about the many average people who have lived generously for the good of society? Many policemen die while keeping us safe but no one mentions their names. Many risk their lives to keep public calm but no honor for them. KABA worked for a private business and the worked very hard to please his employers. The people have shown enough love. LEAVE THE NATION OUT OF THIS!!! We cannot behave childishly is we are serious about solving our issues. Even the talk of state burial... hmmm... I'm sorry KABA died, I feel a lot of sympathy for his family but I am annoyed and disappointed in the manner we give state honors like state burials, street naming etc!!!!!
well i hope that street naming will be in his hometown and not accra . ghana de333 so so aloooooo public figures nkoaaaa. when u engage some in a discussion u realize their IQ be very bad waaaaaa.
***barred word*** proposition. Do you know the contribution that numerous Ghanaian workers, soldiers Etc make to ghana ? What is great about interviewing someone? Bogus advise amfrom a wee smoking man
Please Kojo stop this. A street name for what? You rather should compose a song/ hymn in his memory and proceeds realized presented to the late brother's immediate family(wife and child).
Please stop the absurdities. KABA's death is very painful and unexpected but I think what people are suggesting we do in remembrance of him to get to absurdity.Name a street after him?Grant him a state burial?Create an endowment fund? I do not think he was that extraordinary.I know KABA dying unexpectedly has unleashed emotions in people leading to them making outrageous suggestions. If we should do what people are suggesting for average performances such as KABA's what will we do for greats such as Adjoa Yeboa-Afari,Cameroun Duodo,Elizabeth Ohene just to mention a few of the greats.Yes his death is painful, let us mourn him and wish his family well If we should do all that have bee
